2022 Jubilation By Colgin Blend from United States
#145850 750 mL
2022 Jubilation By Colgin
95 Decanter
This is an astounding 2022. One of perhaps ten wines from across Napa Valley in this vintage that you could confidently cellar for years and be utterly wowed by down the road. It carries the same integrity shown by the 2021 Jubilation and the 2023, both of which I tasted during my visit to Colgin in late February 2026. Beautifully pure black fruit defines the aromatic profile, rather than the red-fruited signatures often associated with the vintage. On the palate, however, subtle red tones begin to emerge—raspberry, cherry, and pomegranate—bringing a crunchy freshness. The tannins are well-integrated, plush yet still compact and tightly knit, guiding the wine towards a long, earthy, mineral-laced finish. Since 2016, Jubilation has been crafted as a blend of fruit from IX Estate, Tychson Hill and select notable grower vineyard sites. This tasting marks the first time these wines will appear in the database, as they have not traditionally been shown to critics. Readers may encounter them in select restaurants and, potentially, through limited retail channels, with distribution in the UK a possibility.

2015 Jonata 'El Desafio De Jonata'
95+ Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
"From the lowest yields since 2004, the 2015 El Desafio de Jonata smells like a barrel sample with its jammy blackberry, blueberry, cassis, crushed rock and lead pencil aromas and flavors. Rich, mouthfilling, plush and textured, yet with loads of underlying tannin, it's going to be another terrific vintage for this cuvée, yet it needs to be forgotten for 5-7 years. The blend is 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% each of Merlot and Petit Verdot (there’s no Cabernet Franc) aged 20 months in 80% new barrels."

2022 Matthiasson Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
99 Decanter
The first 2022 Napa Cabernet I've tasted that avoids the warm, juicy ripeness often associated with the vintage. Instead, it stays true to its character, showcasing beautifully pure black cherry and blue fruit aromatics, with a cooling menthol note and coiled energy. Framed by crisp, crunchy tannins and gorgeous, lacy acidity, leading to an impressively long finish of violets and fragrant bay laurel. Precise and focused. The blend contains 4% each of Petit Verdot and Merlot.

90 Anne Krebiehl MW - Vinous Media
The 2022 Muscat still crackles with a touch of reduction. Only then do honeysuckle and lemon appear, with subtle elderflower in the distance. The palate has far more elderflower than the nose, which is creamy, lemony and light. It's a scented wine with a creamy texture. It shows some pithiness, richer than usual, but dry and bright. 2018 A&G Natale Fantino Barolo Riserva Cascina Dardi Nebbiolo from Italy
#151273 750 mL
2018 A&G Natale Fantino Barolo Riserva Cascina Dardi
93 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
"The 2018 Barolo Riserva Cascina Dardi is a fine choice for drinking now and over the next decade or so. Spice, worn-in leather, cedar and pipe tobacco are all suggestive of a Barolo that is headed into its first plateau of maturity. The Riserva is a strong wine for the year, but the medium-bodied structure of the vintage is impossible to ignore. There's plenty to like, but I would not push my luck on aging. A burst of floral and spice notes wrapped in silky tannins rounds things out in this stylish Barolo from the Fantino brothers."

"Full of black fruits and with a dense texture, this wine shows power along with concentration. The generous character will help it age. Drink from 2024. -RV"
90 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
Sweet, ripe fruit with chocolate and berry character and hints of lightly toasted oak. Medium-bodied with medium, firm tannins and a juicy, fruity finish. Some citrus, too. 70% merlot, 20% cabernet franc and 10% cabernet sauvignon. Give it a year or two to come around. Drink after 2022.

97 Wine Spectator
"The expressive flavors of ripe cherry, raspberry, pomegranate and rose are offset by thick, dusty tannins and accents of wild herbs and menthol. This red stays vibrant throughout, with a long aftertaste of red fruit and savory notes. Delivers layers, freshness and the potential for aging. Best from 2029 through 2048."
96 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
"The expressive 2021 Brunello di Montalcino opens with an array of crushed violet and lavender tones before giving way to citrus-laced blackberries and cherries. Cool-toned and wickedly fresh, it possesses a solid core of mineral-infused wild berry fruits and blue and purple inner florals that arch throughout. Sweet tannins frame the finish beautifully as hints of balsamic spice and pomegranate linger incredibly long. The 2021 is a radiant beast in need of taming. It's hard to put this glass down."

Aromas of fresh green melon, sliced green apples, honeysuckle, flint and salt follow through to a medium to full body with a round texture. Fleshy texture. Layered. Delicious finish. Fermented in concrete eggs and 500-liter French barrels. Very artisanal feel to this small production wine of only 4,500 bottles. From the owners of La Rioja Alta. Spring 2024 release. Drink or hold.
