Boomslang Napa Cabernet Sauvignon

Boomslang is a multi-vintage blend of 2019, 2021, and 2022 fruit, and is crafted by Kevin Morrisey (formerly of Ehlers Estate). It's an incredibly easy-drinking, smooth Cabernet with just enough fine-grained tannins to layer in a bit of grippy texture, but for the most part, it's a pretty, red-fruited elegant Cabernet with good tension and energy. This makes me wish California wineries would do more non-vintage blends.

"Mature and classic in style, open and direct alternating notes of black prunes, blackberries, cassis, wild myrtle, guaranà and karkadè. Medium bodied, light tannins and a tasty finale of pleasurable drinkability and length. Better from 2025."
91 Falstaff Magazine
"Bright ruby red with flint core. On the nose fresh sour cherry, blackberry confit, delicate beet and light cedar in the background. On the palate juicy, with a clear fruit core and well-integrated acidity, supported by fine tannin, in the finish a pleasant spiciness and a savoury character."

Aromas of sweet berries, cherry liqueur and cola dominate the nose of this Pinot, while the palate is loaded with cedar cigar box, coffee and maraschino cherry. The combination of freshness and grip feels very alluring, but it might need a few years to round into form. Drink 2028β2035. β Tom R. Capo

Ripe ruby/red in color, the 2022 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast is ripe and spicy, with aromas of cherries, cinnamon, beet root, and incense. Medium-bodied, it has a weightless feel, a chalky, fine-grained texture, and a spicy finish with notes of gravelly earth. It floats away on the palate and will have a wide drinking window over the next 7-8 years.

2022 Pauletts Polish Hill Riesling Clare Valley
96 The Real Review
Ranked #1 of 78 2022 Riesling from Clare Valley. "Very light straw-yellow with a whiff of minerally edginess, dried herbs and dried flowers, a faint suggestion of acetone, then a lemon-juicy palate that is generous and expansive at the same time as it retains its tautness and youthful reserve. There's a mandarin-like juiciness on the back-palate and finish, the aftertaste cleansingly dry. In all, a really delicious riesling that is already highly enjoyable and has a bright future."

Dark cherries and blackberries with notes of chocolate, walnuts and grilled herbs. Full-bodied, structured and compact, with velvety tannins and deep, dark berry succulence in the middle. Rich and creamy at the end. Better in two to three years.

Soft, light, rounded aromas of young red fruit with a lick of tartness. Deliciously juicy and fruit saturated mid palate with raspberries, strawberries, and some sage on the finish. Well integrated tannins, buoyant acidity. A well-balanced wine that will ask you to take a second sip. Pair with artichokes and butter.

Ruby black color. Aromas and flavors of baked cherries, mocha, and blackberries and black currant with a round, lively, bone-dry medium-full body and a warming, interesting, medium-long finish conveying shades of red and black cherries and currants, black plum and blackberry, mocha, and toasted vanilla bean with fine, well-integrated tannins and moderate oak flavor. A very good wine with the potential for excellence with cellaring and decanting but showing all of the right stuff in this youthful stage.
