2020 Fowles Wines Ladies Who Shoot Their Lunch Shiraz
92 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
Distinctive cool-climate aromas of charcuterie, dried kelp, peppercorn and clove. The aromas are thoroughly convincing, strongly reminiscent of, say, a good Crozes-Hermitage. Plenty of floral lift and buoyancy. The tannins are a tad drying, yet there is a sinuous elegance to this finer-boned shiraz that deserves attention. Drink now. Screw cap.

2021 Altesino Brunello Di Montalcino
95 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
A lively Brunello with aromas of plums, ripe cherries, cedar and teak that follow through to a medium body with fine tannins and a crisp finish. Crunchy and linear. Lovely energy at the end. Drink or hold.
94+ Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The Altesino 2021 Brunello di Montalcino was a little shy when I tasted it, but knowing the track record of this estate, I have no doubt that the wine will flesh out with bottle age. Give it a year or two more. The bouquet offers blackcurrant and wild berry with a dark mineral note and grilled herb. Pressed violet also rises to the top of the wine, which is firmly structured and very lively in terms of mouthfeel. This popular release of 110,000 bottles ages in Slavonian oak casks only.

2019 Les Tourelles Longueville Pauillac
94 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
Fragrant nose of blackcurrants, black cherries, sandalwood, nutmeg, kelp and dried lavender. Full-bodied with firm, polished tannins. Well framed, with a deep, fleshy core of dark fruit. Excellent second wine.
93 Roger Voss - Wine Enthusiast
Dominated by Merlot, this is a luscious wine. It has black fruits and ripe tannins giving the wine a generous and rich character. Expect this wine to age well. Drink from 2025.
91-93 Lisa Perrotti-Brown - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2019 Les Tourelles de Longueville is a blend of 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 68% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, harvested from the 18th of September to the 11th of October. It is being aged in French oak barrels, 30% new, for 12 months. The production of this wine represents 28% of the harvest. Very deep purple-black colored, it features captivatingly pure crushed black plums and fresh blackberry scents on the nose with suggestions of tilled soil, pencil lead, licorice and charcoal with a waft of bay leaves. The full-bodied palate delivers mouth-coating black fruits with a wonderfully plush texture and just enough freshness in the background, finishing long and earthy.
90-92 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
The 2019 Les Tourelles de Longueville is a dark, somber wine. Black cherry, heavy torrefaction, graphite, licorice, cloves, leather and pipe tobacco wrap around the palate in a serious Pauillac. Somber and introverted, the 2019 is in no mood to show all its cards today. In a vintage in which to many wines are bright, Tourelles has a real sense of baritone-like intensity. The 2019 is more brute power than elegance.
91 James Molesworth - Wine Spectator
Shows the rich, warm fruit profile of the vintage, with a nice, slow gush of plum sauce and steeped black currant as well as hints of anise, licorice root and singed cedar. Steady, focused finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best from 2023 through 2033.

Sandeman's long-standing reputation for aged tawny Port is confirmed by this wine. It is poised between fresh fruit and spice, dried dates and a generous golden glow. The wine is at its peak and ready to drink. - ROGER VOSS
95 Tastings.com (Beverage Testing Institute)
Dark amber color. Aromas and flavors of trail mix with pronounced toasted almond, dried red and black fruits, chocolate and salted caramel, and nuts and sunflower seeds with a chewy, vibrant, moderately sweet medium-to-full body and a warming, complex, long finish imparting impressions of dried dates and figs, leather, dark chocolate covered toffee, and orange marmalade with well-integrated tannins and moderate oak flavor. A high quality and dangerous after dinner drink that would pair well with dessert and transition splendidly to an after dinner brown spirit.

The eponymous 2023 Branco, a 50/50 blend of Arinto and Roupeiro from dry-farmed vines planted in 2008 on granite soils, finished fermenting in 2,000-liter Austrian foudres, where it matured for 12 months with the lees. It comes in with a serious and elegant profile, good ripeness, 13% alcohol and very good freshness. It's balanced, fresh, very clean, elegant and tasty. It should develop nicely in bottle. 5,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in October 2024.

2022 Matthiasson Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

The first 2022 Napa Cabernet I've tasted that avoids the warm, juicy ripeness often associated with the vintage. Instead, it stays true to its character, showcasing beautifully pure black cherry and blue fruit aromatics, with a cooling menthol note and coiled energy. Framed by crisp, crunchy tannins and gorgeous, lacy acidity, leading to an impressively long finish of violets and fragrant bay laurel. Precise and focused. The blend contains 4% each of Petit Verdot and Merlot.
