2021 Uccelliera Brunello Di Montalcino Sangiovese from Italy
#152628 750 mL
2021 Uccelliera Brunello Di Montalcino
96 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
A spicy and classic Brunello with vibrant aromas of wild strawberries, raspberries, violets, smoky wood and licorice. Full-bodied, it shows balanced extraction, tamed velvety tannins, refreshing acidity and a super-savory, minerally finish. Juicy and long. Drink or hold." -Aldo Fiordelli
95 Eric Guido - Vinous Media
"Minty herbs mix with shavings of pine, dried strawberries and dusty earth as the 2021 Brunello di Montalcino blossoms in the glass. It displays exceptional finesse and grace, with silken waves of ripe red and blue fruits elevated by fresh acidity. Inner rose tones and a tactile mineral crunch add form toward the close. The 2021 leaves a pleasantly chewy sensation and a tart blackberry twang, tapering off with excellent length and a totally classic feel."
94 Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The Uccelliera 2021 Brunello di Montalcino, produced in 34,733 bottles plus 900 magnums, shows a deep core of dark fruit and black cherry while remaining gracefully vertical and bright. Notes of spice, forest floor and sweet earth weave through the fruit, creating balance and a steady sense of richness that carries seamlessly across the palate. Grapes are harvested with the use of dry ice and fermented in stainless steel on indigenous yeasts, followed by 36 months of aging in oak vessels of varying sizes. All of this locks in aromas. The fruit comes from Castelnuovo dell’Abate at elevations ranging from 150 to 350 meters on mineral-rich, rocky soils, and this bottling once again underscores Andrea Cortonesi’s ability to translate terroir with precision and consistency."
92 Michaela Morris - Decanter Magazine
"There are no single-vineyard bottlings at Uccelliera. Instead, owner Andrea Cortonesi brings together a diversity of plots from various altitudes, exposures, soils, vine age and clones for one complex sum. The 2021 divulges its balmy, southeastern origins with all the robustness and vigour one would expect, while managing to remain surprisingly poised. Nevertheless, this veers more to power than grace. A youthful wood imprint is absorbed by the fleshy, dark-toned fruit. Eucalypt, nutmeg and tarragon infuse. The bold and grainy tannins need more time to resolve."

2020 Antinori Pian Del Vigne Brunello Di Montalcino
93 Eric Guido - Vinous Media
"Dried black cherries and crushed plums mix with cocoa, sage and dried orange peels as the 2020 Brunello di Montalcino emerges from the glass. This displays incredible vibrancy within. It’s juicy and spry, with ripe red and black fruits elevated by brilliant acidity as nuances of sour citrus add further tension toward the close. The 2020 leaves the palate stained in primary concentration and a coating of fine tannins, tapering off spicy and long yet still lively as hints of tart raspberry keep the mouth watering for more. Recent vintages from Pian delle Vigne have delightful new energy and verve."

Subtle baking spice and oak-toast aromas lead to a silky smooth palate alive with nuances of white peaches, vanilla bean, cream and poached pears. The wine is luscious but balanced, quiet on the first sip and then growing in flavor impact with each repeated taste. Best from 2026–2036.

2019 Big Basin Coastview Vineyard Syrah Terraces
95 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
The 2019 Syrah Coastview Vineyard - Terraces is fabulous. Racy and sleek, the 2019 is endowed with serious depth. Dark fruit, leather, incense, tobacco, mocha, lavender and dried herbs are all amplified in this big, bold Syrah from Big Basin. There's so much to like.
94 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
Ripe black fruits, pepper, leather, and spring flower notes all emerge from the 2019 Syrah Coastview Vineyard Terraces, a hidden gem of a Syrah that has more than a passing resemblance to a great Côte Rôtie. Medium to full-bodied, balanced, with a great mid-palate and ripe tannins, it's one of the standouts in this lineup. It will unquestionably evolve for 10-15 years.

2021 Thomas Fogarty Pinot Noir Deerheart Vineyard Pinot Noir from United States
#151321 750 mL
2021 Thomas Fogarty Pinot Noir Deerheart Vineyard
96 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
"The 2021 Pinot Noir Deerheart Vineyard is a new wine in this range. It offers up copious dark cherry/plum fruit along hints of dried herbs, flowers, mint and spice that lend nuance. Bright acids and veins of supporting tannin lend energy throughout. This deep, mid-weight Pinot has a ton to offer. Aeration is essential here."
"Polished layers of black raspberry, toasted herb and wild mountain mint coalesce into a wondrously inviting and complex nose on this bottling. The palate presents waves of baked strawberry, bay leaf and peppercorn as acidity creeps slowly in and then lingers long into the flavorful finish. -MK"
