2015 Kerr Cellars Reserve Red Blend from United States
#106903 750 mL
2015 Kerr Cellars Reserve Red
96-100 Robert Parker - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"Potentially the best of all three if it evolves, as I think it will, the 2015 Reserve Proprietary Red offers up huge notes of blackberries, blackberries, violets and forest floor. It is full-bodied, with that sucrosity and thickness on the mid-palate that so many 2015s have. With good energy and vibrant acidity, this is a stunner , with a finish of close to a minute. It should drink well for 25-30 years."

2022 Jose Gil Rioja San Vicente De La Sonsierra Tempranillo / Tinto Fino / Tinta Roriz from Spain
#142545 750 mL
2022 Jose Gil Rioja San Vicente De La Sonsierra
93 Luis Gutierrez - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2022 Viñedos en San Vicente de la Sonsierra was produced in the same way as the 2021 that I tasted next to it, trying to express finesse and purity in a warmer and ripe year. The wine has similar parameters, 13.9% alcohol. It's surprisingly fresh and harmonious for a 2022, close to the 2021 from the same village, with some floral hints and a seamless palate, juicy and with round tannins. 15,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in September 2024.

Citrus aromas lead to a wine that has some ripe white fruits and a touch of honey. The dry wine, unusual for this appellation, is full of fruit, cut at the end with acidity. Drink now. — Roger Voss

2017 Giuseppe Quintarelli Alzero
97+ Eric Guido - Vinous Media
Minty herbs come together with split pine, graphite and gravel dust before settling on peppery wildberries as the radiant 2017 Alzero smolders up from the glass. It is elegant, seamless and silken, with masses of ripe raspberry and cherry tones underscored by autumnal spice and hints of dark chocolate, all guided by a wave of vibrant acidity. It finishes with dramatic length and heroic structure, leaving a staining of primary concentration and a pleasantly bitter tinge of clove that lingers impossibly long. This is an Alzero for the ages.

Vertice Cuvee Bruto Gouveio from Portugal

Vertice Cuvee Bruto
90 Mark Squires - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The NV Vértice Cuvée Espumante Bruto, formerly known as the NV Cuvée (which, in turn, was formerly a vintage-dated wine), is a non-vintage wine disgorged in April 2022 after some 35 months on the lees, a big drop from the last version. About 50% of the blend is reserve wine aged in used French oak for 48 months. It comes in dry and with 13% alcohol. It is mostly a blend of typical Douro grapes but dominated by Gouveio (60%) and Touriga Franca (13%), then smaller dollops of other local grapes. Finally, it is also a blend of three vintages (25% each from 2013 and 2015, with the rest unoaked from 2020). As is always the case on this wine, the disgorgement date is on the label. Very well done, this is fresher than last year's version, but it's also more complex and toastier than the regular NV Branco Espumante. I love the combination of mouthfeel, fruit and complexity here. It is a nice value. This is only sold in magnum, to which the price applies.

2019 Roagna Barbaresco Paje Vecchie Vigne Nebbiolo from Italy
#149247 1.5L
2019 Roagna Barbaresco Paje Vecchie Vigne
98 Kerin O'Keefe - kerinokeefe.com
Firmly structured and loaded with finesse and energy, the chiseled Pajè Vecchie Viti 2019 is another stunner from Luca and Alfredo Roagna. It has great intensity and layers of aromas and flavors including woodland strawberry, red cherry, anise and cool mint set against tightly wound, fine-grained tannins. Bright acidity keeps it vibrant but also balanced even at this primary stage. This is still in its infancy and needs time. Drink 2032–2059.
98 Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Asili's ace card is elegance. Montefico has especially fragrant aromas, and Pajè is distinguished by its structure. That textural richness comes from the advanced age and deep roots of 80-year-old vines. The Roagna 2019 Barbaresco Pajè Vecchie Viti was born in an amphitheater of vines on limestone soils. The top part of the vineyard where the mineral signature is more pronounced goes to the Barbaresco Crichët Pajé, and the remaining fruit is used here. The wine shows a combination of sweetness and power with chalky tannins to close. Of the four Vecchie Viti wines (including three Barbarescos and one Barolo), this is the last wine served in the tasting. Luca Roagna makes this choice because the Pajè Vecchie Viti shows the biggest tannic structure. The Vecchie Viti wines will hit the market in January or February 2025.
98 Bruce Sanderson - Wine Spectator
Shows an extra dimension of viscosity and energy, with cherry, raspberry, pomegranate, mineral and licorice flavors. Verging on racy, offering lively acidity and dense yet refined tannins, this red is still on the reticent side, yet with all its components in the right place and superb potential. Best from 2027 through 2047. 285 cases made.
96+ Antonio Galloni - Vinous
The 2019 Barbaresco Pajè Vecchie Viti is a wild, exotic wine. Ethereal and deceptively medium in body, the dark fruit is perfumed. The weight and gravitas of the old vines are palpable, and yet, somehow, the 2019 remains light on its feet. The aromatics alone are beguiling. The 2019 just needs time to be at its most expressive.

2020 Susana Balbo Nosotros Malbec Single Vineyard Nomade
98 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
Susana Balbo and her team chose Gualtallary for the Nosotros bottling in this warm vintage. There is huge breadth of complexity to the nose with graphite and tarry black and blue fruit. Dark minerals and a hint of cocoa powder and cigar box. Full-bodied and juicy on the palate with lots of broad-shouldered, fine-grained tannins. Intense, concentrated and incredibly persistent. Minerals in the end. Drinkable now, but better from 2026. -Zekun Shuai
97 Peter Moser - Falstaff
Dark ruby garnet, purple reflections, delicate ochre rim. Delicate precious wood savouriness, a hint of caramel, ripe cherries, blackberry confit, very inviting, delicately decorated with raspberry and liquorice. Juicy, red forest berries, fresh, lively acidity, mineral and full of finesse, pleasant extracted sweetness on the finish, delicate lavender, long-lasting, secure development and certain ageing potential.

2021 Suertes Del Marques 7 Fuentes Vino De Villa
93+ Luis Gutierrez - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2021 7 Fuentes was quite similar to the 2020 that I tasted next to it, but this year they merged the 7 Fuentes and 7 Fuentes El Lance into a single cuvée of Listán Negro and 5% Castellana Negra, so it has grapes from more vineyards, 30 different ones. It fermented with 20% full clusters in concrete with indigenous yeasts and matured for 11 months, 50% in concrete and 50% in used 500-liter oak barrels; then it was blended and kept in stainless steel for a further eight months. It has 12.63% alcohol and good acidity and freshness. This is quite approachable and less reductive and at the same time fresher. They have been working to increase the pH of the soil to get less reduction in the wines; each year as the soils are healthier, there is less reduction in the wines. 50,400 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2023.
