2020 Conti Costanti Brunello Di Montalcino Sangiovese from Italy
#147275 750 mL
2020 Conti Costanti Brunello Di Montalcino
98 Kerin O'Keefe - kerinokeefe.com
The 2020 Brunello from Costanti is an absolute stunner. All about fragrance, flavor and finesse, the elegant palate opens with captivating aromas of iris, violet, perfumed berry, dark spice, whiffs of forest floor and eucalyptus that on the palate transform into wild cherry, raspberry compote, licorice, grilled rosemary and truffle. Tightly knit, velvety tannins provide seamless support while fresh acidity provides impeccable balance. A salty note lingers on the persistent finish. Drink 2029–2035.
97 Michaela Morris - Decanter Magazine
When I tried Costanti’s 2020 Rosso in 2022, Andrea described the vintage as better suited for Brunello given the high dry extract and sturdy structure. Indeed, his 2020 Brunello is one of the vintage’s anomalies. It possesses rare profundity and decisiveness of tannins. The nose invites with plum blossom, dark currants, mint and an earthy undertow. Upfront tannins are substantial, grainy and crisp, and the sour cherry and cranberry core soars from the depths bringing bitter cocoa, coffee and alpine herbs along for the ride. Juicy acidity rings out and a distinct saltiness permeates the finish. Nevertheless, it is that unwavering backbone that currently commands, promising a long life ahead.

95 Anne Krebiehl MW - Vinous Media
"The 2023 Gewurztraminer Brand Grand Cru combines a lovely mix of nettle, rose, white summer blossom and juicy Mirabelle aromas. The palate adds sweetness to a body that is essentially taut and sleek, expressing its granite. Lovely tension pervades this and leaves a profound sense of peach, stone and citrus. 92 Antonio Galloni - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2008 Caburnio is one of the very best wines from Tuscany in its price range. Espresso, mocha, sweet grilled herbs and plums wrap around the palate in this deep, inviting wine. Hints of licorice, crushed flowers, tobacco and new leather add complexity on the striking, nuanced finish. Caburnio is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Alicante-Bouschet and 20% Merlot aged partly in oak and partly in steel. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018." "Tenuta Monteti remains arguably the single finest source for reasonably priced wines in Maremma."

2015 Vega Sicilia Unico Tempranillo / Tinto Fino / Tinta Roriz from Spain
#147648 750 mL
2015 Vega Sicilia Unico
98 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
Sit back and enjoy this Unico if you are going to open it now. Exotic spices and touches of balsam and cumin come up after the unleashing of blackberries, chocolate, iron, incense and violets. So fine-grained and polished, with a mouthful of velvety tannins that are so cohesive, close-knit and still reactive. Impeccably structured, it’s vertical before going extremely long and linear. A consistent Unico that seduces with a hint of iron-like minerality and rusticity. Drink on release or hold.
98 Ines Salpico - Decanter Magazine
Very whole and round with a generous width on the mid-palate offset by an assertive energy, supported by vivid acid and a well-presented tannic framework. An interesting counterpoint to the more chiseled linearity of the 2014 iteration. With all elements very much in their right place, but fruit still unapologetically punchy, it'll be interesting to see how this evolves as tertiary complexity softens the primary and secondary vividness. Cocoa powder, dry tobacco leaves and seaweed hover over juicy plum, dark cherry and black olive. Very long, spicy finish with lingering tapenade and salty liquorice.
97 Luis Gutierrez - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2015 Único comes from a year with a fast ripening, and they had to harvest early to keep the crunchiness of the fruit. This was the first harvest produced 100% by winemaker Gonzalo Iturriaga. The aging was five years in oak, one and a half years in barrels and three and a half years in oak vats. It's a big year, produced with 96% Tinto Fino and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon. It's ripe, with 14.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.88 and 4.8 grams of acidity. The grapes are cooled down for one day, the bunches are selected and then fermented with a pied de cuve in vats. It's a ripe and concentrated vintage, classical modern Vega Sicilia nose, expressive, aromatic and open, with notes of dark cherries, spice, cigar box and a medium to full-bodied palate with abundant fine-grained tannins, with good balance and the rustic elegance of the best Ribera del Duero. In 2015, they produced 84,184 bottles, 3,645 magnums and some larger formats, less than 2014, which was the largest production of Único ever. It was bottled in May 2021.

17.5pts out of 20pts "Tinta Roriz and Tinta Amarela, from high altitudes and transitional schist/granite soils. Made with little maceration, it immediately attracts with its enormous purity of fruit, with notes of fresh berries, cherry, raspberry. Very smooth tannins, very light toast accompanying the fruit, a light, elegant, delicious red."

93 Eric Guido - Vinous Media
The 2024 Chardonnay Willamette Valley wafts up with minty freshness, blending white flowers with nuances of ginger, flint and slate. The palate is soothingly round, with a pretty inner sweetness and supreme balance as lemon mingles with apricot and a saline mineral tinge. Lively tension puckers the cheeks while mouthwatering acidity and a salty flourish linger. The value here is unparalleled.

2020 Comando G Las Umbrias Grenache / Garnacha from Spain

2020 Comando G Las Umbrias
97 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
Another unique, soulful wine from Comando G that is full of dried herbs, thyme, grapefruit, mineral, wild berries and white pepper. This is also one of the palest in color with an orangey hue, yet super ethereal and nuanced. Tangy and chalky on the palate with a medium body, with great precision and purity. The long, mineral finish goes right into your soul. Drink now or hold.
95 Luis Gutierrez - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Slightly darker, deeper and less ethereal on the nose than usual, the 2020 Las UmbrÃas has a lot of grip on the palate and is an earthier vintage of UmbrÃas, not the ethereal wine like the 2018, despite being the year with less alcohol (13.5%). It was a high-yielding year, and they picked the grapes during heavy rain, so they had to dry the grapes with warm air before putting them in the vat. UmbrÃas is possibly their most fragile grand cru, and it suffers under certain conditions. It seems to have suffered a bit in 2020, but it still has the elegance of UmbrÃas, the iron-like sensations from Rozas de Puerto Real and the balance and subtleness in a more earthy way. 2,559 bottles and 40 magnums were filled in March 2022. 2023-2030
