2023 Etienne Sauzet Cotes Beaune Blanc Jardin Du Calvaire
88 Jasper Morris, MW - Inside Burgundy
Foudres and 600 litre barrels. Mid lemon yellow, with notable ripeness on the nose, even some bacon fat – picked later after the heat spurt had done its work. However very far from heavy or heated on the nose, with clean cut Hautes Côtes character dominating the middle before the return of a honeyed citrus note to finish. Drink from 2026-2028. Tasted Oct 2024.

2022 Sequoia Grove Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Sauvignon from United States
#148306 750 mL
2022 Sequoia Grove Cabernet Sauvignon
This tank sample of the final blend before bottling shows an abundance of ripe, juicy, almost syrupy fruit flavors, from blueberries to blackberries and cherries. It feels soft and plush, tastes warm and broad and adds chocolate and vanilla accents to all the sweet-tasting fruitiness. Drink or hold.
90 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
Ripe plums, darker berries, spice, and chocolaty, savory herb notes all emerge from the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, a nicely textured, medium-bodied, incredibly satisfying Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that has ripe tannins, plenty of mid-palate depth, and a great finish. It would be hard to find a better value-priced Cabernet Sauvignon in the vintage. Drink 2025-2030.
88 Joe Czerwinski - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
There are an impressive 20,000 cases of the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon, more than half of which comes from the winery's Rutherford holdings. A blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc 7% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec, all aged 18 months in 55% new French oak, it offers pleasing scents of cedar bark, mocha, vanilla, black cherries and hints of of dill and thyme. In the mouth, this medium to full-bodied offering lacks a bit of richness, but it does exhibit attractive fruit and just enough soft tannins to make it useful at the table.

A blend of lots from Buchli and Home Ranch, plus another bit or two, the 2022 Chardonnay Proprietor Selection boasts subtle toast, crushed stone and pencil shaving nuances set against a backdrop of pineapple and white peach. Bigger, lusher and creamier than the single-vineyard bottlings, it's full-bodied yet finishes long and crisp.

A blend of 60% Nero d'Avola and 40% Frappato, the organic COS 2022 Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico sees cement only to achieve a silky, mid-weight texture. Kicked off with a spontaneous fermentation, it reveals fresh aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, almond, wild herb and crushed stone. The vineyards are characterized by sandy limestone soils that are unique to this part of Sicily.

2019 Poderi Einaudi Barolo Bussia
95+ Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The Poderi Luigi Einaudi 2019 Barolo Bussia opens to a fragrant bouquet with wild rose and lilac. Those pretty high-toned aromas are followed by redcurrant and earthy licorice. Bussia is a very large MGA site, and there are dozens of little microclimates and nuances within this one vineyard. This wine embraces a very graceful and ethereal side of Bussia that tightens on the palate to show age-worthy structure. Production is 10,600 bottles.

"So interesting tasting this against a wide range of AOC Médoc wines. It's a more expensive bottle than many of them, but it is confident, crafted and full of personality. Cocoa bean, espresso, plentiful berry fruit, touches of mandarin peel and lemongrass to lift things on the finish, slate texture tannins, good stuff."

2022 Dom. St Damien Gigondas "Clovis Saurel"
95 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
The 2022 Gigondas Clovis Saurel checks in as all Grenache raised in demi-muids. It has subtle, classy oak in its sweet red fruits, ground pepper, garrigue, spice, and even meaty aromas and flavors. With medium to full-bodied richness, a pure, layered mouthfeel, and ultra-fine tannins, it’s impossible to resist. Give it some air if drinking any time soon, and it will clearly evolve gracefully over the coming 10-12 years or more.
94 Yohan Castaing - Robert Parker's the Wine Advocate
Entirely crafted from old Grenache Noir vines, the 2022 Gigondas Clovis Saurel was macerated for seven weeks and matured for 15 months in large barrels. Evoking a deep, earthy bouquet of cedar, tobacco, oak, smoke and spices mingled with carnal notes, it's full-bodied, rich and concentrated with a fleshy core of fruit and structured tannins that bring some structure and power, concluding with a long, tobacco-inflected finish. This ripe, somewhat overripe Gigondas will offer a broad drinking window.

92 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is a dense, brooding wine. Swaths of mountain tannin wrap around a core of dark red-toned fruit, iron, savory herbs and graphite. The blend is approximately 50% estate and 50% neighbor fruit, including 20% Merlot. This is an especially reticent 2021, but, then again, we are on Atlas Peak. Give this time.

2023 Pisoni Estate Vineyard Chardonnay Chardonnay from United States

2023 Pisoni Estate Vineyard Chardonnay
97 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
Medium gold-hued, with subtle but deep aromatics, the 2023 Chardonnay offers rich notes of orchard fruits, creamed corn, crushed stone, and exotic flowers. Medium to full-bodied, it has a pure, layered mouthfeel, integrated acidity, and a gorgeous finish. This incredibly impressive SLH Chardonnay will keep for 10-12 years. Aged 17 months in 40% new French oak, it benefits from air if drinking any time soon.
96 Billy Norris - Vinous Media
The 2023 Chardonnay is a powerful, super-phenolic, almost chewy white, but all of that texture is bedded on a base layer of crystal-clear, supple, super-ripe golden orchard fruit. Flint, orange zest, chamomile and yellow apple flesh out magnificently into a long, expansive finish that’s propelled by calibrated acidity. This is an unashamedly large-scaled Chardonnay, but it’s finessed through and through. A 17-month stay in 40% new French oak built loads of creamy texture and spicy complexity into the wine’s frame. The 2023 is a total showstopper.
