2021 Robert Craig Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon
96 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon (Mt. Veeder) is superb. It captures tons of Veeder character in its savory/mineral intensity and dark fruit. Purplish fruit, blood orange, pomegranate, dried herbs, mint and wild flowers all build as this potent, driving, vivid Cabernet builds in the glass. This is lights out.

Clear. Aromas of banana custard and praline follow through on a supple, silky entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body with excellent smoothness and integration of flavors. Finishes with nice interplay of spice, dried apples and bananas, toffee, and earth notes. A rich, flavorful daiginjo that will shine at the table with spicy sushi.

"Summer turns to autumn on the nose of this Meunier-dominant Champagne (with 30% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir, and upwards of 35% reserve wine) as lovely, ripe orchard fruits sprinkled with cinnamon and vanilla spice rise up to meet peach and lime curd. Flavors follow suit on the glossy-textured palate, which is concentrated, pure, and delightfully tangy toward the finish."

The 2021 Pinot Noir La Rinconada Vineyard, vinified entirely with whole clusters, features scents of raspberry, pomegranate, black tea leaves, blood orange and Angostura bitters, revealing earthy accents as it spends time in the glass. The medium-bodied palate is chalky and tense, with a concentrated core of alluringly herbal fruit and a long, ethereal finish. It will benefit from 3-5 years in bottle.

2023 Hexamer Meddersheim Rheingrafenberg Spatlese Riesling
92+ Stephan Reinhardt - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2023 Meddersheimer Rheingrafenberg Riesling Spätlese is already highly stimulating in its very first seconds! This is a savory classic that offers saline and stony aromas intertwined with perfectly ripe and fleshy but not all too lush mango and more yellow stone fruit aromas. Crystalline and savory on the palate, this is a linear and elegant, acidity-driven rather than textured dry Riesling with a long, savory and still-reduced finish. This Riesling is popular in Norway, yet it is probably too sharp and too Nordic for many other export markets. It's age-worthy in any case, with this intense and saline, firmly structured and persistent finish. Screw cap." -Stephan Reinhardt

#149803 750 mL
2022 Ramey Westside Farms Chardonnay
94 Erin Brooks - Robert Parker's the Wine Advocate
The 2022 Chardonnay Westside Farms Vineyard comes from grapes planted in 1989 on silty loam soils on Westside Road. The grapes were harvested on August 19, before the Labor Day heat wave, and the wine was barrel-fermented. Matured for 20 months in 20% new French oak barrels, it has slowly unfurling aromas of peach, ginger, cashew, honey and matchstick. The palate balances lush, honeyed flavors with fresh acidity, and it has a long, spicy finish.

2010 Paul Jaboulet Hermitage La Chapelle Syrah from France
#71672 750 mL
2010 Paul Jaboulet Hermitage La Chapelle
96+ Robert Parker - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"It should be fascinating to compare the potentially legendary 2010 Hermitage La Chapelle with the prodigious 2009 La Chapelle over the next 30-40 years. About 20% new oak was used, and, as were previous vintages, the 2010 was aged 15 months prior to bottling. This black/purple-colored beauty is revealing more weight and richness than it did last year from barrel, along with great precision, stunning minerality and enormous quantities of blackberry, cassis, beef blood and smoked game intertwined with hints of graphite and acacia flowers. With good acidity and richness as well as abundant, but ripe, well-integrated tannin, this great wine equals the titan produced in 2009. Forget it for 7-10 years and drink it over the following 30-50 years."
96 Josh Raynolds - Vinous Media
"Inky, glass-staining ruby. An exotically perfumed bouquet evokes dark fruit liqueur, smoky Indian spices, potpourri and cracked pepper. Deep but lively, offering palate-coating blueberry and cherry-cola flavors and a sexy note of candied violet. This wine opens up dramatically with a little air and shows a very suave blend of power and finesse. An energizing mineral note comes on strong on the endless finish, which features sexy floral and spicecake nuances."
96 Decanter
Noticeably more evolved than the 2016, taking on some air-dried meat aromas. The characteristic smokiness of Hermitage is starting to make itself more apparent now, with cigar wrapper, bonfire ash and fireworks swirling from the glass. Dense and intense on the palate, with driving, powerful, mouthcoating tannins. This still needs time to temper the tannic force, and will take on more complexity, so hands off until 2030 - if you can wait that long! From 45 to 90-year-old vines across lieux-dits Les Roucoules, Le Méal, Les Greffieux, Les Bessards and Varogne. Aged in French oak barrels, 20% new. (MW)

90 William Kelley - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Pillowy and charming, the latest rendition of Delamotte's NV Brut offers up attractive aromas of orchard fruit, fresh bread and citrus oil. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and elegant, with a pretty pinpoint mousse and lively balancing acids, it's drinking well out of the gates but will also develop gracefully for a few years in the cellar.

Equipo Navazos Manzanilla Pasada #120 Botas
97+ Luis Gutierrez - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The NV La Bota de Manzanilla Pasada 120 Botas NO is the most recent bottling of this mythical wine, in this case the result of combining the “Bota Punta” with two outstanding casks of the 1/15 solera. This is an extraordinary Manzanilla of character, complexity and depth, with 14 years of average age, matured under flor for 10 years (and in a more oxidative way the last four to five years) in topped-up barrels. So, it's a little in the way of turning into an Amontillado but keeping the biological and saline character of the Manzanilla. I tasted from an opened bottle, and the wine had closed down and took some time to open up. The nose is impressive, for the first time with some Amontillado hints, mainly hazelnuts and a little varnish. It has concentration and depth, persistence and pungency. It's approachable and has the stuffing and balance to age nicely. 3,000 half-liter bottles produced. It was bottled in 2023.

"Spring flowers, roasted herbs, graphite, chocolate, and scorched earth intermixed with blackberries define the 2020 CĂ´te RĂ´tie La Mouline. Made from 89% Syrah and 11% Viognier and aged 42 months in new French oak, it's full-bodied, rich, and textured, with violets and smoked meats emerging with time in the glass. This concentrated, pure, super-rich, and sexy wine has flawless overall balance, ultra-fine tannins, and sensational length. Hide bottles for 5-7 years. Drink 2030-2050."
98 Nicolas Greinacher - Vinous
Bottled in February 2024, the 2020 Côte-Rôtie La Mouline is a masterpiece. Crushed violet, black cherry, graphite, olive tapenade, crushed rocks and cedar notes race out of the glass. A shot of espresso and minty shadings add further complexity. Stacked with ample flavor concentration and impressive depth, the 2020 hails from the glass with a vivid, energetic lift that races through from start to finish. Moreover, the round, sweet and gently enveloping tannins are remarkably refined and integrated for such a young wine, suggesting that the 2020 won’t require as much time to come around as usual. In short, this is a brilliant La Mouline that Guigal enthusiasts will want to snatch up.
98 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
Such a concentrated, focused yet bright La Mouline for the vintage. The nose reveals aromas of blackberries, dark plums, violets, undergrowth and black pepper. It's full-bodied with very fine tannins. It's ample, dense and yet so refined. The power is all under control, with the velvety, voluptuous core of dark cherries and berries mingling through the spices in harmony. The refined tannins guide the mid-palate onto a textural, long finish. Try after 2026.
95 Matt Walls - Decanter
Sticky damson and plum fruit, just a little touch of prune in the mix. Medium-bodied with fresh, fine tannins; quite an ethereal style of La Mouline, with floral hints and plentiful spicy oak among the roses. A compact style of wine for the vintage that suits what this vineyard delivers - good expression of terroir. I would drink this young, though it will no doubt age fairly well. From lieu-dit CĂ´te Blonde and at the beginning of its 40 months in new French oak barriques.

2020 Guigal Cote Rotie La Turque
97-99 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
The 2020 CĂ´te RĂ´tie La Turque brings a touch more mid-palate density and offers a straighter, more inward bouquet of cassis, graphite, smoked meats, and iron, with subtle gamey, bloody background nuances. It too is full-bodied and has a concentrated, structured mouthfeel, remarkable purity, and a killer finish.
The 2020 CĂ´te-RĂ´tie La Turque reveals an intense and intricate bouquet of black pepper, licorice, iodine, mocha, graphite and cedar notes, showcasing outstanding complexity. Full-bodied and deeply concentrated, it shines with refreshing acidity and an ultra-precise balance that maintains a serene sense of harmony. With a long, generous and impeccably refined finish, this is a serious La Turque that's elegant to the core.
The nose is like what you smell when you enter a spice market in the Far East. Great concentration and underplayed power on the full-bodied palate, but also graceful, the generous dose of toasty oak almost perfectly integrated. Extremely long finish that keeps on pumping out the berry fruit, butter, orange and stone character. Drinkable now, but best from 2027.
94-96 Joe Czerwinski - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Notes of espresso and barrel char ride above notes of purple raspberries in the 2020 Cote Rotie La Turque. It's full-bodied, with ample concentration and length, but it seems to lack a bit of depth compared to other recent vintages. Let's see what next year brings.
96 Matt Walls - Decanter
This feels like a classic, with the weight and tannins necessary to help this age, but it's not as massive as some recent vintages. Star anise, cinnamon and nutmeg - very much about the spice this year - this is bold and sweetly fruited, with juicy, pliable tannins and a long finish. Vines are on the CĂ´te Brune, planted by Marcel Guigal in 1980 (first vintage 1985) after being abandoned since 1935. La Turque is a central part of CĂ´te Brune, less than 1ha. This is only at the beginning of its 40 months in new French oak barriques.
96 Kristen Bieler - Wine Spectator
A sublime bruiser of a wine, with layer after layer of chocolate-coated cherry and mulled plum. Notes of grilled herbs and apple wood smoke infuse the rich palate, with ample oak that is well-integrated. Nearly glycerol in feel, with power that builds, driven by a spine of iron and well-hewn tannins. Syrah and Viognier. Drink now through 2040. 90 cases imported.
