2016 Ar.Pe.Pe. Valtellina Superiore Sassella Riserva Ultimi Raggi
96 Falstaff Magazine
Bright, radiant ruby red. Freshly ground pepper and herbs on the nose, with fine Amarena cherries and notes reminiscent of mint chocolate and blackberries on the finish. Balanced on the palate and harmonious throughout, it's nevertheless powerful and lingers on the tongue for a very long time.
96 Marcus Hofschuster - Wein Plus
Very firm and deep, extremely complex, fresh and precise, somewhat leathery and tobacco-like, also iodine on the nose, ripe, partly dried red and black berries with dried floral aromas, pepper, allspice and some Cheyenne pepper, dried mushrooms and a little undergrowth. Tight, concentrated, tart, yet extremely juicy fruit, present, ripe tannins and a certain acid bite, dense and persistent on the palate, tarry notes, a little tobacco, allspice and pepper, deep and complex, restrained power. Great.
95 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
Aromas of graphite, game, earth, red cherries and dark berries. Dense palate with dusty yet ripe tannins, refreshing acidity and a medium to full body. A lot of good substance that still needs time to integrate and gain complexity. Drinkable now, but best from 2026.

2021 Flora Springs Trilogy
94 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
The flagship 2021 Trilogy from this estate checks in as 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, and the rest Malbec, all raised in mostly (all?) new oak. This medium to full-bodied, ripe, concentrated, satisfying effort has lots of blueberry and darker raspberry-like fruit, some chocolaty oak and dusty minerality, ripe tannins, and a great finish. I love its overall balance, it has notable purity, and I see no reason it shouldn't evolve for 15-20 years.
93 Joe Czerwinski - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot and 5% Malbec, Flora Springs's 2021 Trilogy offers up an intriguing bouquet of ripe cherries, fine sandalwood and a hint of mint too. While not a huge blockbuster wine, it's medium to full-bodied, nicely proportioned and silky in feel, with a lingering finish.

2016 Pierre Gimonnet & Fils Brut Special Club Chouilly Grand Cru Chardonnay from France
#146412 750 mL
2016 Pierre Gimonnet & Fils Brut Special Club Chouilly Grand Cru
The bright straw-hued 2016 Champagne Grand Cru Special Club Chouilly Brut was aged for 70 months on the lees, it did go through malo, and it saw 4 grams per liter dosage. The nose shows some real nuance, with a floral perfume lifting from the glass with delicate notes of sweet pastry cream, lemon curd, ripe pear, and chalky earth. Medium-framed and well-detailed, its more mineral texture and refined feel also reveal themselves, along with a refined pinpoint mousse and a delicate, rounded mid-palate. A very pretty wine from this vintage, it offers a bit more nuance and delicacy in this youthful stage. Drink it over the next 12-15 years.
93 Wine Advocate - Wine Advocate
Issuing entirely from the Montaigu vineyard in Chouilly, planted in 1951, the 2016 Special Club Chouilly Grand Cru is incisive and pure, reflecting the late-ripening vintage with all its attributes. Unfurling from the glass with aromas of white flowers, green apple and fresh lemon, it’s medium-bodied and bright with vividly chalky personality and a long, persistent finish. This is one of the most electric wines in the Gimonnet cellar from this vintage and justifies special pursuit. Vinified in tank, it was disgorged in July 2024 with a dosage of 4.5 grams per liter.

Mint, orange and medicinal herb aromas and flavors define this succulent red. Accents of red berry fruit and earth lurk in the background. Starts out fluid but tightens up, with a broad swath of tannins gripping the finish. Best from 2029 through 2048. 393 cases made, 150 cases imported.

92 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
Vinous and reductive in the glass, this shows aromas of violets, red and black cherries and strawberries. Lush fruit on the palate, with a medium body, a supple style, ripe tannins and super-juicy acidity. Easy to drink now, but will improve in complexity in two or three years.

89-91+ Allen Meadows - Burghound
A slightly more elegant nose also reflects good Chablis typicity on the more floral-suffused aromas of apple, pear and quinine. In the same vein as the nose, the mouthfeel of the seductive, even opulent, medium weight flavors is more refined and just a bit denser as well, all wrapped in bitter lemon-inflected finish. I like the balance and this too could be enjoyed young or aged for a few years to good effect.

Such a fresh and juicy Alsace pinot noir with plenty of strawberries and raspberries. The slight sappiness to the tannins adds to the impression of freshness. As it aerates it gains some earthy complexity on the mid-palate and softens at the end. Still very youthful. Drink now.

89 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
"The 2023 Pinot Noir (Carneros) is a bold, juicy wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. A burst of dark red cherry fruit opens first, followed by hints of cedar, tobacco, earthiness and new leather that add layers. This is sure to be a crowd-pleaser."

The 2024 Langhe Nebbiolo continues this series of fine entry-level offerings from Burlotto. All the elements are so well balanced. Silky tannins and gracious mid-weight structure are the signatures. 93 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
"Chardonnay dominates pinot noir here 60-40, the pinkish salmon colour is arrived at with a dash of red pinot noir from Les Orizeaux, it smells of sour cherries, almost flinty stony minerals and a gently spiced biscuity edge. The palate has a smooth and creamy texture, oozes charm and plays off generosity with restraint to great effect. Really fresh, really fine, drink now."
92 Wine Spectator
"Steeped raspberry and almond skin aromas and flavors are framed by zesty acidity in this distinctive version, while the fine mousse provides a creamy cloak for the firm structure, carrying accents of pink grapefruit pith, ground anise, minerally saline and chalk. Disgorged February 2019. Drink now through 2023. -AN"
92 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
"The NV (2015) Brut Rosé has just a bit more body and mid-palate generosity than the 2014, which gives the wine slightly greater richness. Sweet red cherry, rose petal, mint and touch of oak sweetness give the 2015 striking raciness and texture. This is such a pretty and distinctive Rosé. Disgorged: February, 2019."
