2018 Adams Bench Winery Reckoning Blend from United States
#142424 750 mL
2018 Adams Bench Winery Reckoning
91 Wine Advocate - Wine Advocate
Composed of a blend of 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot, the 2018 Red Wine Reckoning displays dusty dark fruit aromas in the glass with hints of graphite, roasted black plum and cherry before a soft notion of savory herbs, pencil shavings and baked earth sway from the glass. Medium to full-bodied, the still-tight tannins will benefit from additional bottle aging after release, so give it time. The wine rested for 20 months in 80% new French oak barrels.
19+ Rand Sealey - Rand Sealey's Review of Washington Wines
Composed of 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot from the Red Willow, Mays Discovery and Stillwater Creek vineyards, this wine offers a semi opaque ruby-crimson color and intoxicating aromas of wild blackberry, cherry, plum, black currant, crushed black roses, sweet tobacco, mulberry, sandalwood, anise, vanillin, rubbed sage and sweet incense. The flavors are mouth filling and deep cored marked by licorice, dark cocoa, French roast and variegated minerals and earth. The penetration continues on the back with sensations of macerated fruits, roasted walnuts, mocha, toasty oak and pencil lead, all gliding seamlessly into a lingering, opulent, spiced yet precise ripe tannin finish. 19+/20 points.

2015 Tenuta Di Bibbiano 'Bibbianaccio' Blend from Italy
#137333 750 mL
2015 Tenuta Di Bibbiano 'Bibbianaccio'
93 Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"A blend of Colorino and Sangiovese with tiny parts of the white grapes Trebbiano and Malvasia, this is a powerful and balanced expression. For authenticity and personality, the 2015 Bibbianaccio pokes some fun at the 100% Sangiovese wines of the appellation by introducing the other indigenous grapes found in this cheerful blend. It presents wild cherry and rose with tilled earth and powdered licorice and would be a pleasant pairing with grilled meat and vegetables."
91 Wine Spectator
"Fading cherry and strawberry flavors are flanked by woodsy, wild herb and pine notes. There's a sweet core of fruit, along with oak spice. Tips slightly toward the tannins, but this is hitting its peak now. Complex and old-school. Sangiovese, Colorino, Malvasia Bianca and Trebbiano. Drink now through 2028. 180 cases made, 28 cases imported."

2019 Podere Brizio Brunello Di Montalcino Sangiovese from Italy
#142866 750 mL
2019 Podere Brizio Brunello Di Montalcino
95 Wine Spectator
"Black cherry, blackberry, plum, violet and mineral flavors are the hallmarks of this pure, dense and robust red, which is squarely in the fruity camp, yet bumps up against pointed tannins on the finish. The lasting impression is both fruit and tannins, so this should work itself out in a few years. Best from 2027 through 2043. 3,000 cases made, 1,600 cases imported. -BS"
94+ Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The organic Podere Brizio 2019 Brunello di Montalcino (in a heavy glass bottle) shows pretty aromas of crushed stone, dried raspberry, redcurrant, cherry cola and blue flower. The elegance and finer qualities of this wine are what stand out most, and you get pretty definition and sharpness along the way. The finish is lean, tonic, lifted and bright. Some 38,000 bottles were made. Great job."

2020 Domenico Clerico Barolo Ciabot Mentin Ginestra Nebbiolo from Italy
#141346 750 mL
2020 Domenico Clerico Barolo Ciabot Mentin Ginestra
97 Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The Domenico Clerico 2020 Barolo Ginestra Ciabot Mentin shows really great balance in terms of the oak integration. For the first time, the estate has decided to use large oak casks (removing the barrique entirely), and the results are extraordinary. There is a lot of dark fruit, like cranberry and currant, that holds tight and defines the wine throughout. There is black tea and spice, but these tones work with the fruit not against it. It finishes smooth, with glossy tannins, pretty acidity and a much brighter and lighter overall personality. Only 5,000 bottles were made."
96 Kerin O'Keefe - kerinokeefe.com
The wine that initially put Domenico Clerico on the map with its debut 1982 vintage, the compelling 2020 Ciabot Mentin has aromas of ripe red berry, blood orange, menthol and oak-driven spice. The aromas carry over to the savory, enveloping palate along with licorice notes while tightly woven, close-grained tannins provide support. Drink 2028–2035. Abv: 14.5%
96 Decanter
Year by year, Ciabot Mentin shines for its remarkable consistency. This 2020 starts a bit closed, with restrained blood orange, but then an exquisite mix of red cherry, violet, leafy lightness and liquorice depth reveals itself. Graphite dominates the palate, along with a hint of yellow fruits, sustained by lifted acidity and velvety, elegant, super-polished tannins. Aldo Fiordelli
95 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
Bright ruby color suggesting youth. It has an extremely floral nose of fresh roses, violets, pomegranate, cherry fruit and soft spices. The medium-bodied palate is soft with velvety tannins, refreshing acidity, a bit of vibrancy and a polished finish. A really enjoyable wine, but it needs 10 years of cellaring to develop its potential of complexity. Drink from 2034.

2018 La Massa Carla
96 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
A very fine-tannined, pure sangiovese Super Tuscan red with crushed stone, blueberries, blackberries and black cherries. Real terroir-driven character to this wine with well-balanced, intense and fine tannins and a long finish. Drink after 2024.
94 Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"Made with 100% Sangiovese, the Fattoria La Massa 2018 Carla 6 comes from a 1.5-hectare vineyard that was planted in 1999 on schistous and clay soils. This vintage reveals a meaty side with more fruit weight and concentration. The wine feels wide and rich to the palate, and it closes with dark fruit, tobacco, crushed stone and even a hint of caper or green olive. This 5,000-bottle production is fermented in stainless steel and then moves over to tonneaux (with one-third made from new oak) for finishing."

93 Wine Enthusiast
Indulgent blueberries, deep blackberries and subtle, rich oak accents make this wine concentrated, luxurious and mouthcoating. Velvety tannins wrap around the relaxed, almost-sweet fruits and enticing toast, baking spice and mint accents. Best from 2025–2033. — Jim Gordon
92 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
"A smoking value, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is all varietal that saw 18 months in 40% new barrels. It has lots of classic cassis, spice, leather, and some dried flower-like nuances as well as medium to full-bodied richness and depth on the palate, with velvety tannins. California needs more gems like this one, which will evolve easily for 10-12 years."
91 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
"Dark, vibrant and punchy, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is fabulous. Black cherry, plum, new leather, spice and mocha are beautifully delineated. This Napa Valley Cabernet delivers the goods big time. Vineyard sites are Cardenas, Renteria 360 and Winner. This is flat-out delicious."
91 Joe Czerwinski - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"Made under the direction of Keith Emerson (director of winemaking for Vineyard 29), the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley blends fruit from Oakville, Rutherford and St. Helena. It's a charming, fruit-forward effort, revolving around cherries, black cherries, even some raspberries, with mere hints of dried herbs and dusty earth. Nicely balanced and put together, it's medium to full-bodied and softly tannic, with a supple, dusty finish. It's a super value in Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, and with production nearing 1,000 cases, it does see some distribution beyond the direct-to-consumer channel. Last time I was in Napa, it was being poured by the glass at Torc."

95 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
"The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Buriano is such a distinctive wine. It is also very young, so a few years of cellaring is advisable. Inky dark red/blue fruit, lavender, spice, mocha, incense and licorice add nuance to this decidedly plush, textured Cabernet."
