The 2020 Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills) is a rich, bombastic wine. A rush of dark cherry/plum fruit, mocha, licorice, scorched earth, chocolate and game all race across the palate. There is a bit of wildness in the 2020 that lends exoticism. This is a very good example of a wine from a warm vintage in a south-facing site. It's certainly not a shy wine, let's leave it at that. All of this fruit is from Mt. Carmel.

Its class is clear, and it doesn't need to shout about it with ambitious posturing or fancy winemaking. It is pure and simple fruit finesse. Sitting delicately on the palate, it is all about elegance and simply being. I would give it a higher mark, but it doesn’t have the length it needs, but then I don't think the Foreaus much care about ratings.

The 2022 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico entices with a heavily spiced bouquet as cedar box and clove give way to crushed blackberries and nuances of coconut. It is silken and elegant in feel, with depths of ripe red berry fruits offset by a bitter tinge of dark chocolate and citrus. The finish is gently structured and long, with a twang of blood orange that resonates.

This opens with an expressive nose of elderflower, spring meadow scents and mouthwatering minerals. On the palate, it's gorgeously bright, with effortless fruit, juicy acidity and a sense of completeness. Seemingly an easy wine, the mineral power sweeps in on the finish. Speaks of a great site. Fabulous and utterly drinkable.

Perfumed aromas of white blossom, white peach and honeydew melon flatter the nose along with orange peel and Fuji apple. Layered orchard fruit, citrus and floral flavors open the palate supported by a vein of minerality that is triumphant on the finish.

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis is a terrific introduction to the range. Soft contours wrap around a core of red-toned fruit, spice, tobacco and cedar. All the elements are so well balanced. This mid-weight, supple Cabernet Sauvignon is a total delight.

Approximately three-fourths of the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis comes from Atlas Peak, where the Antinoris have a substantial vineyard. It's reasonably floral and fresh on the nose, with hints of violets alongside cherries and redcurrants. Full-bodied and round, it may lack a bit of richness and depth compared to the 2021, but it's a supple, easy-drinking effort that won't disappoint unless you're expecting single-vineyard quality.
