The 2018 Barbaresco Faset is bright, effusive and charming, in other words, everything Faset should be. Sweet dried cherry, mint, spice, tobacco and cedar are all nicely delineated. The Faset is a very pretty, understated Barbaresco. It's a delight to taste today.

2010 Chateau Barde Haut Grand Cru Classe St Emilion
96 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
Even better than the 2009, the 2010 Château Barde-Haut offers the same sexy, extroverted style yet has slightly more density and depth. Blackcurrants, plums, graphite, and loads of chocolate notes jump from the glass, and it put its foot firmly on the ripeness pedal with its full-bodied richness and depth, sweet tannins, moderate acidity, and a rockstar of a finish. It's one of the most massive, opulent wines in the lineup and will continue to evolve gracefully for another two decades or more.
94 Lisa Perrotti-Brown - The Wine Independent
2010 Barde Haut is deep garnet colored with a hint of brick. There is a beautiful perfume of rose oil, licorice, and dark chocolate over a core of plum preserves and boysenberries. Full-bodied, it has dense fruit and firm, chewy tannins, amazing tension, and a long and minerally finish

"Minerally accents of smoke and oyster shell on the nose lead to rich toasted brioche, Anjou pear and lemon curd flavors on the palate of this bright, elegant Champagne. Drink now through 2023. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 31,250 cases made, 5,500 cases imported. — AN"
91 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
"Quite impressive richness and gently toasty aromas on the nose here with almond, savory and sweet, bready autolysis notes. The palate has a fresh, succulent and smooth feel with soft, citrusy fruit flesh. Holds long. Drink now."

"This is a crisp, textured wine with an emphasis on Chardonnay. That gives the Champagne delicacy, freshness as well as a tight edge of minerality. Drink this fine cuvée now. -RV"

2015 Chateau Haut Brion Blend from France

2015 Chateau Haut Brion
100 Lisa Perrotti-Brown - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"A blend of 50% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Haut-Brion is reticent to begin, languidly revealing crushed black cherries, ripe black plums and wild blueberries with sparks of cinnamon stick, cloves, nutmeg, espresso, unsmoked cigars, tapenade, crushed rocks and lavender. The full-bodied palate possesses wonderfully complementary contrasts of bold black and blue fruit richness and delicately nuanced cherry fruit, baking spices and floral accents, strutting ripe, finely pixelated tannins and seamless acidity that is placed firmly in the background, finishing very long and with plenty of attitude. This impeccably poised, exquisitely perfumed 2015 Haut-Brion possesses the most alluring yet seemingly effortless beauty. While it bears only a passing resemblance in its opulent personality to the now legendary 1989, like that vintage the 2015 cannot fail to hedonically satiate and intellectually edify all lovers of great Bordeaux who drink it. What’s more, it also has the blue-blooded tenaciousness to remain this jaw-droppingly impressive, throughout its many guises over time, and for a very, very long time."
100 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
The 2015 Haut Brion is a perfect wine that couldn’t be any better and is certainly at the top of this great vintage. A blend of 50% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the balance Cabernet Franc, this full-bodied, concentrated, backward, yet sensationally pure 2015 boast knockout notes of blackcurrants, smoked tobacco, ground herbs, and graphite, with a terrific damp earth/minerality quality emerging with time in the glass. Straight, focused, and built like a skyscraper, with a stacked mid-palate, forget bottles for 7-8 years and enjoy over the following three to four decades.
100 Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
If the color does not let you know you're in for a treat, the nose is going to knock you over with its floral, smoke, cigar wrapper, black cherry and cassis notes. The purity of fruit here is off the charts. The wine is all about its silk and velvet textures from that point forward. The finish is so expansive, it feels like it keeps on going, moving across an array of flavors long after you've put the wine where it was supposed to go. This is the best wine yet produced by Jean Philippe Delmas yet. Bravo!
100 Neal Martin - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2015 Haut-Brion is a blend of 50% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Cabernet Franc picked between 8 September and 5 October. Of course, it showed majestically out of barrel, so pressure was on in bottle. Deep in color, the bouquet is a real showstopper: blackberry, raspberry, sage, black olive and warm gravel...this is a profoundly complex bouquet that is nuanced and beautifully delineated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and ample freshness, but don’t be deceived because this is a very structured Haut-Brion built for the long-term. Remarkably the 14.9% alcohol is completely disguised. It feels incredibly long, and yet instead of fanning out, it shuts down the door on the finish. It is a behemoth of a wine, one that is up there with the legends of the past.
100 Lisa Perrotti-Brown - The Wine Independent
The 2015 Haut-Brion is composed of 50% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 8% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet in color, it rolls out of the glass with a youthful, still primary core of juicy black plums, crushed blackcurrants, and boysenberries, before revealing evocative notes of iron ore, violets, dark chocolate, and licorice with a waft of tar. The full-bodied palate is packed with muscular black fruits and lots of mineral nuances, framed by very firm, very fine-grained tannins and seamless freshness, finishing with epic length and depth. Stunning!

2019 Proprieta Sperino Coste Della Sesia Rosso Uvaggio Blend from Italy

2019 Proprieta Sperino Coste Della Sesia Rosso Uvaggio
95 Decanter
The family property of Paolo De Marchi (owner until mid-2022 of top Tuscan estate Isole e Olena) is now run by his son Luca, with 7.7ha of vineyards at 290m-350m on mineral-rich, ancient volcanic soils. Fruit for this 80% Nebbiolo, 15% Vespolina, 5% Croatina blend came from plots in Lessona in the Orolungo region and Brusnengo in the Bramaterra DOC. Fermentation was in open-top wooden vessels and the wine rested on lees for 16 months before ageing in a combination of barrique, barrel and 15hl casks for 20 months before bottling. Dirceu Vianna Junior MW: Refined aromas of cherries, floral and herbal notes, and sweet spices. Subtle and sophisticated on the palate but with exceptional concentration of fruit. Great purity and a wonderful persistent finish. Federico Moccia: This has good concentration of fruit on the nose. A nice, simple red fruit palate with good, tense acidity and fresh, crunchy tannins. Emma Robinson: Inviting and seductive nose of sour cherry, cranberry and plum. Hints of spice and liquorice on the palate, with a sweet finish. A highly concentrated and serious wine.

2018 Zenato Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico
96 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
Very aromatic, pushing out aromas of dried red and black fruit, including dried blueberries and dates, together with a nice, spicy layer of nutmeg and pressed flowers. Full-bodied with an amazingly harmonious texture to the palate, thanks to the dense, very fine tannins that also provide super length. There’s a bright, saline mineral note that kicks in and pushes the finish even further. Exquisite Amarone. Drink or hold.
95 International Wine Report
The 2018 Amarone della Valpolicella from Zenato is a fantastic showing. It opens to inviting aromatics of dark cherries and ripe plums along with chocolate covered raisins, candied flowers, herbs and hints of dried tobacco that all emerge from the glass. On the palate this possesses a medium-plus body with excellent poise and freshness, as it gives way to a ripe core laced with flavors of berries and plums along with sweet spices and chocolate covered raisins that continue to linger on the supple finish. Delicious now and should evolve nicely over the next few years.

2021 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon One Point Five
96 Wine Enthusiast
This sophisticated and concentrated wine wraps lovely dark plums, blueberries and cocoa flavors in velvety tannins that are well integrated and soothing, while still setting the wine up for a potentially long life. Subtle baking spices, espresso and cedar accents enhance the impressive fruit flavors.
More Cabernet-dominated, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon One Point Five checks in as 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot, 2% Merlot, and a splash of Malbec. It has incredible purity in its cassis, graphite, lead pencil, and camphor on the nose and a concentrated, medium to full-bodied, layered style on the palate that stays tighter and more compact than the TD-9.

2021 Uccelliera Rosso Di Montalcino
93 Eric Guido - Vinous Media
Darkly alluring, the 2021 Rosso di Montalcino slowly comes to life with a beguiling blend of mentholated herbs, pine shavings and dried strawberries. This sweeps across the palate with textures of pure silk, soothing all that it touches with ripe red fruits and rosy inner florals guided by vibrant acidity. It finishes structured, potent and long, punching well above its weight class, as licorice mingles with savory spices through the youthfully tense finale. This is next-level Rosso di Montalcino. In a word, spellbinding.

#142120 750 mL
2021 Tenuta Dell'ornellaia Ornellaia Bolgheri Superiore
99 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
The 2021 Ornellaia captures all the magic of this sensational vintage on the Tuscan Coast. Rich, ample and expansive, with tremendous polish, the 2021 is pure class. Dark-toned fruit, mocha, espresso, licorice, plum and dried herbs abound. The tannins are present but also beautifully integrated, as is the French oak. There was a time not too long ago when young wines here needed years in bottle to drink well. That's not at all the case with the 2021. The blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot works so well. New oak was 70%.

Dark and rich in the glass, the 2019 Hexe displays wild strawberry, red plum, anise and peppery floral aromas. This is wickedly fresh yet powerful, with depths of ripe cherry-berry fruits, autumnal spice and lively acidity that holds the entire experience together. The 2019 finishes long and spicy, echoing with blue and purple inner florals. A balsamic twang lingers.
