2024 Dr Burklin Wolf 'Hommage A Luise' Riesling
93 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
This racy, light-bodied riesling has fabulous juiciness. I love the zesty pink grapefruit and blood orange flavors that make this such a joyful wine. Very long, expressive finish. A cuvee of wines from the Bohlig and Konigswingert sites that were wild-fermented. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

Located in Leynes but higher up and south east, and falling into the St-Véran appellation. 40 plus year old vines. Plenty of juice here, with very good weight of white fruit, well balanced acidity and good length. Fine example. Drink from 2024-2026. Tasted Apr 2024.

"Creamy, with honeyed flavors of passion fruit, guava and spice that show a hint of candle wax. There's good intensity to the acidity in this exuberant rosé, and it just balances the tropical overtones, with an off-dry, moderate finish. Drink now. -AN" (Reviewed 2012)

2022 Bodegas Alto Moncayo Veraton
90 JoaquĂn Hidalgo - Vinous Media
The 2022 Garnacha Veraton Garnacha from Campo de Borja aged primarily 80% in new French and American oak. This is dominated by the barrel aging, with a nose of vanilla, sandalwood, red fruit candy and rose perfume. Creamy and structured, with acidity in line with the style, this is a rich, vigorous red in which the 16% alcohol is well integrated. It only really appears on the finish along with hints of hay.

91 Yohan Castaing - Robert Parker's the Wine Advocate
De Cérons has truly excelled this year, surpassing my expectations during the en primeur tasting. With a gourmand bouquet of strawberries, dark berries, flowers and cassis, the 2022 de Cérons is medium to full-bodied, round and supple with a lovely, juicy core of fruit, delicate tannins and a slightly creamy texture that brings roundness and elegance. Lively and vibrant, the finish is long and perfumed, making it a stunning wine. This is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc.

The wine is ripe and smoky, with great black fruits and tannins. It is rich, as the wine's structure supports some powerful fruits. Drink this fine wine from 2025.

88-89 Jasper Morris, MW - Inside Burgundy
From good vineyards such as Au Pelson, Bons Batons and more. Dense purple. The bouquet impresses for its concentration of a bright zesty fruit, filling the mouth, through to an energetic finish where the fruit swamps the structure but remains well defined. A long finish beyond the norm for this level of appellation. 70% whole bunch vinification. Drink from 2026-2029. Tasted Nov 2024.
84-86 Neal Martin - Vinous Media
The 2023 Bourgogne Rouge contains around 50% whole bunch. I prefer this to the Côteaux Bourguignon this year—there's more freshness and delineation. The palate is balanced with supple tannins. It has fleshy ripe red fruit tones and a sweet, pastille-like finish. Fine.

Precise and translucent aromas of red cherries, pencil shavings, blood oranges and rose petals. The palate is refined and polished, with vivid red fruit and chalky, mouthwatering tannins. There’s nervy tension and real drive, with great aging potential. Delicious. Drink or hold.

2020 Sierra Cantabria Rioja Reserva Unica Tempranillo / Tinto Fino / Tinta Roriz from Spain
#151679 750 mL
2020 Sierra Cantabria Rioja Reserva Unica
"A fruit-conscious Rioja reserva with flowers, plums and bramble berries. Rich and deep, with restrained oak spices and a touch of minerals. Excellent fruit quality, with fine-grained tannins and a long, bright finish. Drink or hold." -Zekun Shuai
93 Luis Gutierrez - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2020 Reserva Ăšnica comes from the COVID-19 (and mildew) year and tries to combine the primary character with the complexity of the older wines. It's mostly from one vineyard that has some Graciano (maybe 3%) that always gives the wine an aromatic and fresh kick. It comes through as very balanced. It started a little closed and shy and took time to open up in the glass. Again, the 2020 in Rioja has less body and clout than 2021, the wines are finer-boned and the tannins have some grip. This matured in a combination of French (60%) and American (40%) oak barrels for two years, but the oak is very integrated and folded into the fruit. 25,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2023."
92 JoaquĂn Hidalgo - Vinous Media
"The 2020 Reserva Ăšnica Sierra Cantabria is 97% Tempranillo and 3% Graciano from Labastida. Aged 24 months in 60% French and 40% American oak, 15% of it new, it offers red fruit, cherry, new oak and a vinous profile on the nose. In the mouth, it's smooth and slightly caramelized, with gentle tannins and a fruit-driven style. The 2020 is a modern Reserva with clarity and expression."
