"Clos 93 is so-named because it was the 93rd winery to register with the Consejo Regulador de Priorat. This may also be a quiet nod to the burgeoning interest in the region: in the 1970s there were only two wineries in Priorat bottling their own wines. Today, there are 114.
The estate was created in 2011 by two brothers, RubĂ©n and Josep SabatĂ©, and their uncle, Pepo GarcĂa. The brothers handle the wine-making responsibilities while their uncle looks after the vineyards. The house that the winery is attached to dates back to the brothers’ great-grandparents, with them having made bread for the town on the ground floor where the winery is now located.
The winery’s old stone design maintains both the temperature and humidity year-round, a factor all the more important for aging its wines given the region’s particularly hot and dry climate. It is in this heat and through poor, steep red clay and black slate soil (Licorella) that the estate’s vines (ranging from 15-85 years in age) struggle to find water, offering small yields of powerful concentrated fruit.
Clos 93 is nestled along a river valley right in the tiny village of El Lloar, where it is just one of two wineries. The Sabaté Brothers and their uncle now work seven hectares of vineyards in El Lloar, Gratallops and El Molar at altitudes of 200-220 meters. Of all the wineries registered in Priorat, Clos 93 is still the region’s smallest, producing just roughly between 12,500 - 14,000 bottles each vintage." DISTRIBUTOR.
" With this wine, we made ourselves known. Today, it remains our closest and most representative wine.
It is a Priorat wine created to break stereotypes: there is no need to wait for a special occasion to open it, because L’Interrogant is a wine that wins you over. We make it to be enjoyed at a meal with friends, with family, during an evening of shared cooking, or even in your own quiet moment—at that time of day we all need.
The name was born from a question and a certainty: that it would be easy to remember, eye-catching, and impossible to overlook. L’Interrogant invites you to pause and open yourself to everything that may happen.
It is made with garnacha, carignan, and a touch of cabernet. We work with what the vineyard gives us, with honesty and respect. During its 12 months of aging in barrels, the most approachable aromas and flavors come together to create a fresh, friendly, and direct wine, true to the essence of Priorat.
That is L’Interrogant: a wine to remember, because the best moments are not awaited—they are lived.“Making wine the way it was made before, to drink it the way we do today.”
Our wines are fragments of our family history—memories turned into wine and emotions we want to share with you.
In the DOQ Priorat, the land gives character; we add memory, passion, and authenticity.
