91 Eric Guido - Vinous Media
"The 2018 Etna Rosso Contrada CrasĂ pulls me close with depths of ashen stone, crushed black cherries and dried roses. This is silky and pliant in feel, with mineral-tinged red berries and zesty acidity that build a reverberation of tension with each sip. It leaves a coating of grippy tannins through the finale, while maintaining admirable freshness. As pretty as the CrasĂ Contrada is today, the best is surely yet to come."

2021 Altesino Montosoli Brunello Di Montalcino Sangiovese from Italy
#151647 750 mL
2021 Altesino Montosoli Brunello Di Montalcino
98 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
Dense aromas of red cherries, bark, mushrooms and plums follow through to a medium body with tangy acidity and juicy flavors. It’s very long and quite chunky, with velvety tannins and a flavorful finish. Savory and tangy at the end. Drinkable now, but better in three or four years, Try after 2028.
97 Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Proprietor Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini has important holdings in this special cru, and if you're after Montosoli, this is one of the best expressions around. Fruit comes from a five-hectare plot with friable galestro soils at a sweet spot perched at 350 meters above sea level. The Altesino 2021 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Montosoli flaunts an especially sharp profile with enhanced minerality and focus. There is wild cherry and dried currant, but ultimately more impactful are the elegant aromas of crushed stone. These give the wine brightness and vertical lift. The mouthfeel is medium- to full-bodied in texture with fine, powdery tannins that are well integrated. It is matured in Slavonian oak casks. You can cellar this wine longer, but you can also enjoy it in the medium term to take advantage of that pretty fruit freshness. Production is 12,000 bottles.

2024 Josef Umathum Rosa Blend from Austria
#151611 750 mL
2024 Josef Umathum Rosa
91 Anne Krebiehl MW - Vinous Media
"The 2024 Rosa is a blend of roughly one third each of Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch and Sankt Laurent, resulting from free-run juice of the red wine ferments. Year after year, the deep pink color is a joy to behold in this Umathum classic. Juicy strawberry on the nose is supported by a creamy backdrop and citrus overtones. The palate is, as always, fuller, rounder and superbly juicy. This is actually more of a light red in its bearing, its use and its nature, and it simply spells joy with its gastronomic potential. (Bone-dry)"

2020 Guigal Ermitage Ex Voto Red
97-100 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
While I think 2019 slightly surpasses 2020 in CĂ´te RĂ´tie, it might be the inverse in 2020, and the 2020 Ermitage Ex Voto is certainly fuel on the fire. I wouldn't be surprised to see this merit a triple-digit rating, and it has incredible class in its cassis and black raspberry-like fruit as well as notes of saddle leather, savory flowers, smoked tobacco, and ground pepper. This deep, powerful, full-bodied Hermitage has awesome tannins, a silky, layered mouthfeel, and boatloads of tannins. It's going to need upwards of a decade of bottle age, but this is heavenly stuff.
95-97 Nicolas Greinacher - Vinous
Alluring spice-box, ripe black fruits, cured meat and a jolt of espresso introduce the 2020 Ermitage Ex-Voto. Minty undertones and peppery elements complement the complex aromatic profile. Utterly savory, the 2020 hits the palate with stunning energy and balance. Medium- to full-bodied, it could potentially outperform the head-turning 2019 once bottled
97 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
The interplay of toasty oak with stony minerality is every bit as important to this wine as the way the plush tannins balance the gigantic forest berry fruit. Builds to a huge climax at the very structured and driving finish. Aged for 42 months in oak. Drinkable now, but best from 2027.
97 Matt Walls - Decanter
Fresh and dense, displaying great substance and depth. Robust oak work here and it's very tannic; a powerful, driving wine of great size and grandeur. Long and complete, it will swallow its oak in time I suspect. At the start of its 40 months in new oak barriques. Old vines from Les Bessards, Les Greffieux, L'Ermite and Les Murets.

95 Luis Gutierrez - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2022 Pegaso Granito has a showy nose, with plenty of red raspberries, and it opens up even more in the glass. It has notes of ripe red berry fruit, flowers and aromatic herbs. It's juicy and velvety, with the frontal tannins from the granite soils. It shows the ripeness of the year with 15% alcohol but a lower pH and higher acidity (3.24 and 6.57, respectively) because of the blocking of the vines that didn't have time to burn the acidity and the cycle was shorter. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with fine-grained tannins. 5,800 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2024."
