Aromas and flavors of green apple and honey, unmalted barley and dry hay, lime zest, ginger and nerds candies, and citrus and juniper with a round, crisp, dry medium body and a tingling, complex, medium-length finish that presents nuances of peach, apricot and berries, cantaloupe, cardamon, and toasted walnut. A gorgeous, luscious fruit-forward Whiskey with an all day long texture and mouth-coating flavors that linger on the palate.

This year’s Ardbeg Day release was created with “high gravity” mashing, using less water and more grain in the mash tun to intensify the flavor profile. There’s rich, sweet, and flavorful peat and grilled meats on the nose. Lots of fruit sweetness on the palate, fresh apples, apricots, and vanilla cream. On the finish, excellent length and vanilla sweetness. Great balance and texture throughout, very light and easy to drink, and well-integrated with layers of depth.

Red wine casks can overpower, but here the balance is perfect. Finished for 2 years in Italian red wine casks from Tuscany, the nose brims with blackberry, black cherry, ripe Victoria plum, dark chocolate, peppercorn, licorice, and black tea. Aberfeldy’s honeyed core shines through layers of chocolate, black cherry, clove, nutmeg, plum pudding, and gentle oak. A beautifully poised malt with a long, indulgent finish of chocolate-dipped dark fruits.

Aromas of musty oak, old library books, broiled peaches, ladyfinger cookies, and a hint of tobacco on a mellow nose. The palate offer bitter chocolate, but also sweet flavors of warm peach tart, crème brûlée, and lemon pie, with a dash of jalapeño pepper spice. The finish is very long, offering vanilla custard sprinkled with chocolate flakes and cinnamon. Very well-integrated with deep, layered flavor creating a sublime whisky.
