A multifaceted wine, super rich and profound, with aromas of embers, dried cherries, wild strawberries, violets and bright blood oranges. Medium-bodied and slightly firm, with dusty tannins coated by fruit. Very tasty, savory, slightly lifted and citrusy. Drink or hold.

2023 Pisoni Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir Pinot Noir from United States

2023 Pisoni Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir
96 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
Brilliant and worthy of comparison to top Pinot Noirs and Burgundies, the 2023 Pinot Noir offers a gorgeous array of red and black fruits intermixed with forest floor, dried flowers, baking spices, and leather. This medium to full-bodied Pinot Noir reveals a layered, elegant mouthfeel, ultra-fine tannins, integrated acidity, and a great finish. Made with 30% whole clusters and fermented in oak tanks before 11 months in 65% new French oak, it shows the softer, supple, incredibly charming style of the vintage and will drink beautifully over the coming 10-12 years.
96 Billy Norris - Vinous Media
The 2023 Pinot Noir is a blend from the four different ridges on the vineyard, aged for 11 months in 65% new French oak. Blue fruit and chaparral herbs sizzle out of the glass, melding into a deep inner core of slate, crushed rocks and chalk. The refined, polished quality of the tannins and the harmony of the refreshing, cool-toned acidity are both particularly excellent in 2023. This is not a flashy vintage of the estate Pinot鈥攊t鈥檚 a powerhouse with a soft-speaking voice, a wine built for the cellar that鈥檚 already showing very well today. Resonant and harmonious, the 2023 is a dynamic, dimensional, utterly classy wine.

Like a worn, comfy leather chair, this is comforting and supple in feel, with lightly mulled peach, green fig and cherry fruit flavors laced liberally with praline, toasted sesame, argan oil and green tea notes. A touch demure, with a soft focus at the core that contrasts beautifully with its racy edges. A stunner. Drink now. 155 cases made, 20 cases imported.

2022 Ramey Westside Farms Pinot Noir Pinot Noir from United States

2022 Ramey Westside Farms Pinot Noir
95 Erin Brooks - Robert Parker's the Wine Advocate
The 2022 Estate Pinot Noir Westside Farms is the inaugural release of Pinot Noir from the Ramey family's Westside Farms ranch. It comes from vines planted in clay-loam soils along the Russian River in 2001. The grapes were harvested on August 18 and 19, before the Labor Day heat wave, and only free-run juice was included. It was fermented in tank with 25% whole clusters and matured for 18 months in 45% new French Fran莽ois Fr猫res barrels. It has a pale ruby color and open, inviting aromas of cranberry sauce, rhubarb, blood orange, allspice and Angostura bitters. The medium-bodied palate surprises with its highly concentrated, layered flavors and is lent complexity by emerging earthy nuances. It鈥檚 structured by lacy tannins and vibrant acidity and has a very long, layered finish. It will benefit from several years in the cellar. It will be released in September of 2025.

2021 Suertes Del Marques 7 Fuentes Vino De Villa
93+ Luis Gutierrez - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2021 7 Fuentes was quite similar to the 2020 that I tasted next to it, but this year they merged the 7 Fuentes and 7 Fuentes El Lance into a single cuv茅e of List谩n Negro and 5% Castellana Negra, so it has grapes from more vineyards, 30 different ones. It fermented with 20% full clusters in concrete with indigenous yeasts and matured for 11 months, 50% in concrete and 50% in used 500-liter oak barrels; then it was blended and kept in stainless steel for a further eight months. It has 12.63% alcohol and good acidity and freshness. This is quite approachable and less reductive and at the same time fresher. They have been working to increase the pH of the soil to get less reduction in the wines; each year as the soils are healthier, there is less reduction in the wines. 50,400 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2023.

2020 Guigal Cote Rotie La Landonne
98-100 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
I think the star of the show in 2020 will be the 2020 C么te R么tie La Landonne, and this is one I can't wait to taste from bottle. It's slightly more elegant and supple compared to the massive 2019, yet it has a similar style in its extravagant dark fruits, truffle, game, iron, and smoked meat-like aromas and flavors. It's a powerful, full-bodied, concentrated C么te R么tie that's going to need to be forgotten for 8-10 years, although if you ever wanted to try a truly great young La Landonne, this might be the one given its incredible fruit and texture.
97-100 Nicolas Greinacher - Vinous
The potentially perfect 2020 C么te-R么tie La Landonne is riveting. Bringing together all the finest elements of the Guigal house style, it explodes from the glass with smoky blackberry jam, menthol, crushed rocks, cured meat, iodine, licorice, cloves and black olive tapenade. Charged with a massive tannic core, this concentrated powerhouse dazzles with off-the-charts intensity yet total clarity and focus. Built like a skyscraper, the 2020 will surely be a long-distance runner.
98-100 Joe Czerwinski - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The undisputed star of the cellar this vintage (at least at this stage), the 2020 Cote Rotie La Landonne is not only unbelievably complex on the nose鈥攚ith an awesome stew of vegetal-herbal nuances blended with cassis and smoked meat鈥攂ut full-bodied, concentrated, velvety-textured and remarkably long and tannic. Patience will be required.
99 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
This is ample, stunning and concentrated, with impressive energy. Dark berries, grilled herbs, stones, leather, undergrowth and loads of baking spices. Full-bodied with fine, sinewy tannins. There is a solid frame of tannins bringing a serious character on the palate. Dense, dark core of blackberries and spices funneling through the palate. Highly textured with incredible drive. Focused and shaped for aging. Try from 2028.

An intense nose with wild dark berries, dark plums, game, cloves and some undergrowth. Mineral driven with firm but precise tannins, a characteristic of the granite soil. Medium to full body with good balance. Crunchy fruit with plenty of juicy cherries and black pepper at the end. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
