Perfumed aromas of white blossom, white peach and honeydew melon flatter the nose along with orange peel and Fuji apple. Layered orchard fruit, citrus and floral flavors open the palate supported by a vein of minerality that is triumphant on the finish.

Beautiful density of wild strawberry, almost gummy, blended with fresh plum, cassis, and white pepper on the nose. Sandy tannins support a rich palate of raspberry and black cherry, leaving a gentle tea-like finish. Developing nicely but certain to drink even better with time. Aromas of dark cherries, potpourri, river stones and violets. The palate is tightly wound with finely integrated tannins, giving flavors of blueberries, rhubarb and dried herbs. Very structured and pure, with a powerful undertone that will soften with time. Drink or hold.

98 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
The complexity and subtlety are most impressive, with honeysuckle, white flower, ripe pear, flint and vanilla bean aromas. Medium-bodied with a tight and phenolic texture and a long, tight finish. Lots of layered mouthfeel and complexity. Fantastic finish. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
95-97 Erin Larkin - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2024 Maté's Vineyard Chardonnay is mouthfilling and full, easily the biggest and most powerful of the single-vineyard Chardonnays in this 2024 release. "In terms of quality, 2024 is up there with the best of them: 2022, 2020, 2014..." This feels perhaps as statuesque and thrilling as the best of the Maté's so far, with intensity that explodes in every direction on the palate—length and width—with spicy top notes and a thunderous base of yellow fruit. The acidity, as usual, coils and weaves its way across the palate, lacing together the fruit and phenolics with seamless intensity. This is very good.

2015 Les Pagodes De Cos
94 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
Really juicy and delicious on the nose. Enticing. Plum, berry and spice undertones. Some chocolate. Full and very long. Gorgeous focus and finesse. Better in 2021
94 Roger Voss - Wine Enthusiast
This wine is dense, complex and with great tannins. It is powerful and rich, packed with black fruits. Good acidity gives the wine its freshness, its black-currant fruit and its potential longevity. Rich and with great aging potential, this is becoming a major wine in its own right rather than just a second wine of Cos d'Estournel. Drink from 2025.
92-93 Jonathan Choukroun - Vert de Vin
The nose is aromatic, slightly powerful and offers concentration. It reveals notes of cassis, blackberry and Sichuan pepper associated with slight touches of spices. The palate is fruity, mineral, juicy, well-balanced, straight, precise / clean and offers a nice definition, a nice tension, finesse, fleshiness as well as a nice richness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of cassis, black cherry and blackberry combined with touches of raspberry, ripe / crushed redcurrant as well as slight touches of liquorice, toasted oak, slight touches of chocolate and discreet / imperceptible touch of almond / caramelization. Tannins are fine, a bit firm and very slightly dry. There is a discreet hint of coffee on the finish.
93 Peter Moser - Falstaff
Dark ruby, purple reflections, delicate bright rim. Somewhat restrained, fine nuances of cherry, a touch of herbs, a mineral touch. Elegant, taut, dark berry fruit, firm tannins, crisp style, mineral with good persistence, fine cherry fruit on the finish, versatile, subtle spice on the finish, it has certain ageing potential.
92 Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Deceptively easy to drink, the wine is medium-bodied, silky, refined and fresh, with soft, polished tannins and finish replete with dusty cocoa and perfectly, ripe, sweet cherries. No decanting needed here. Just pop, pour and enjoy it. As a side note here, the wine has improved in score each time I have tasted it since it was in barrel
91 Georgina Hindle - Decanter
Very good crushed berry fruit and a much more elegant style than before. A polished wine with depth and spice, silky texture and exotic spices; very well made.
91 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
The 2015 Les Pagodes de Cos is a very serious second wine, especially in this vintage, where so many Saint Estèphes are on the lighter side. Plush, deep and enveloping, within the mid-weight style of the year, the 2015 Pagodes possesses lovely depth, texture and resonance. Black cherry, plum, licorice, tobacco and menthol wrap around the racy finish. All the elements are in the right place. This is very nicely done. The blend is 46% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot." - Antonio Galloni, Vinous

97 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
Coming from a mix of noteworthy sites in the valley and mostly Cabernet (there's some Merlot in the blend, I believe), the 2018 Napa Valley Red Wine sports a dense purple color to go with a full-bodied, opulent, monster of a wine that carries loads of red and black fruits, notes of spiced meats, dried tobacco, and chocolate, ripe tannins, integrated oak, and a wonderfully mouth-filling texture. This is about as opulent and sexy as 2018 gets and it's well worth seeing out. It's going to put a smile on your face any time over the coming 15-20 years.

97 Robert Parker - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"One of the most spectacular 1994s, this opaque purple-colored wine is an exotic, flamboyant, ostentatious port. Extremely fragrant and pungent, with a flashy display of jammy cassis, pepper, licorice, and truffles, this port is an attention-grabber. Awesomely rich, and full-bodied, with superb length, richness, and overall balance, it possesses a huge mid-palate, layers of flavor, an unctuous texture, and a blockbuster finish. Everything is in place, with the brandy and tannin well-integrated, even concealed by the masses of fruit and glycerin. This wine will drink fabulously well at age ten, but keep for up to thirty years. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2035."

93 Eric Guido - Vinous Media
The 2019 Red Wine seduces with a pretty blend of dried violets, incense, herbal tea and crushed wild blueberries. Like liquid silk, this flows across the palate with a juicy blend of red and blue fruits elevated by juicy acidity, as a lavender air forms toward the close. This leaves a pleasantly bitter sensation, mixing blackberries and hints of spice, as sweet tannins frame the experience well. This is a glass of liquid pleasure.

The 2021 Isosceles is remarkably pretty, with a peppery array of wild herbs, mint leaf and tart cherries. Silken in feel, it reveals depths of ripe red and black fruits that slowly saturate as a core of vibrant acidity maintains energy throughout. The finish is structured and long, leaving a tart concentration of primary fruits and a balsamic twang.

Louis Roederer Brut Collection 246
92 Wine Spectator
"This vibrant version is finely knit and elegant, with floral, toast and smoke aromas on the nose and flavors of creme de casis and lemon curd riding the lacy mousse."
91+ John Gilman - View from the Cellar
"The current offering of Louis Roederer Brut Premier is an excellent wine on both the nose and palate, and though it is delicious right out of the blocks, a bit of bottle age will certainly be rewarded here. The youthfully pure bouquet jumps from the glass in a vibrant blend of apple, lemon, stony minerality, warm bread and citrus zest in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, young and nascently complex, with a fine core, tiny, pinpoint bubbles, brisk acids and a very long, balanced finish that shows just a whisper of leesiness from battonage. Fine, fine juice that is going to age quite well and will be even better with a year or two in the cellar to allow the wine to fully blossom. 2014-2030." (08/13)
91 Wine Spectator
"A smoky note of minerality complements the flavors of dried cherry and black currant, almond financier and gumdrop in this refined, creamy version. The delicate yet persistent acidity is well-integrated, leading to a mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2018. 50,000 cases imported. -AN" (Reviewed 11/13)
