96 Kerin O'Keefe - kerinokeefe.com
A classic blend of Nebbiolo from three villages, La Morra, Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga, the 2021 Figli Luigi Oddero Barolo is a beauty, starting with its aromas of red berry, blue flower and eucalyptus. The vibrant palate is elegant and youthfully austere - a great characteristic for a wine destined for long aging - featuring crunchy red cherry, blood orange, crushed mint and star anise. Taut, tightly wound but refined tannins provide support while bright acidity keeps it balanced and vibrant. Drink 2031–2041.

Plush and generous aromas of blackcurrants, mulberries and baking spices. The palate is full-bodied with finely integrated tannins and bright acidity, giving flavors of olive tapenade, blackberries and cedar. Approachable for early drinking, but it will age nicely. Drink or hold.

94 Revista Adega - Revista Adega
A red blend composed of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Alicante Bouschet, aged for 18 months in oak, partly in 500-liter barrels and partly in 25 hl foudres. Here, too, there is a stylistic shift towards more tension, precision, fruit clarity, and depth, while maintaining the generous profile of its perfectly ripe red and black fruits, all supported by taut, sandy-textured tannins and vibrant acidity, which give the wine fluidity and persistence. Undoubtedly, the best version of this red wine tasted by ADEGA to date. Alcohol 14%.

2022 Bodegas Vizcarra Alejandra White Ribera Del Duero
96 Decanter
Hay, linden, lemon curd and dried apple peel, with an edge of zest and flint, mingle on the beautiful nose. Vibrant, linear acidity supports the palate which is at once nutty and saline. Poised, with weighty lemon curd and quince with a lining – at once vegetal and savoury – of wild flower, dry hay, apple peel and dry sage. Long finish, with a vibrant tail of white pepper, cinnamon, aniseed, tarragon, curry leaf and toasted almonds.Drinking Window: 2025 - 2032
95 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
The 2022 Alejandra is named for Juan Carlos Vizcarra’s wife and the mother of Celia and Inez, who have their own namesake wines. It was made the first time in 2018 for her 50th birthday to coincide with when the appellation allowed Albillo Mayor whites to be officially produced. This Albillo has 10% other local white varieties from some of the oldest otherwise Tempranillo plots the family farms. They have since planted a new plot of Albillo and will begin making this wine from that. Fermented in concrete eggs, it then spent 12 months aging in larger-format oak, 30% new. Like many of the whites made from this grape, it’s more about texture than fruitiness, with minerality in the form of wet stone and gravel, or what the winemakers would call “phosphorus.” It gets one year in bottle before release and should age another 10-15 years.
93+ Luis Gutierrez - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The one white they have produced in the last few years, the 2022 Alejandra is a very primary expression of Albillo Mayor, produced with grapes from vines intermixed in the red vineyards. It has contained ripeness, 13.5% alcohol and very good freshness and acidity—remarkable for the very warm year. It fermented in concrete eggs and barrels and matured for 12 months in barrels of different sizes, 30% of them new. The oak is neatly integrated, and the wine has an elegant and fine profile.

Clear. Lightly yeasty aromas of dough, Asian pear, creamy nougat with a silky, fruity-yet-dry medium body and a refreshing melon, kiwi coconut cream, and dusty potato accented finish. A vibrant junmai sake that will excel with spicy Asian dishes and appeal to wine drinkers. (tasted 6-14-13)
85 Stephen Tanzer - Vinous Media
"Pale, bright straw color. Vaguely grapey aroma with hints of herbs and anise. Rather low-toned flavors of squash, banana and sweet butter. On the soft wide, but fairly subtle and easy to drink. A midweight example that's cleanly made but a bit warm."

"From one of Alto Adige's oldest co-ops comes this luminous Pinot Grigio. Clean-lined pear and river stone notes hover above delicate white flowers, while the palate shows the kind of precision that only high-altitude vineyards can deliver. There's both power and grace here, like fresh snow on ancient rock. -JP"
91 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
"A quite confected wine with pear-candy aromas, white peaches and a whiff of flowers. Light-bodied and vibrant with polished texture and savory length. Less simple than it seems at first. Drink now."
90 Eric Guido - Vinous Media
"The 2024 Pinot Grigio is crisply floral, with nuances of yellow apple, minty herbs and lime zest forming its bouquet. This is a fruit-forward effort with crunchy mineral tones and sour, citrus-infused orchard fruits to balance. It finishes with a zesty close and a subtle saline saturation that lingers."
90 Wine Spectator
"A sleek and zippy white, with mineral drive to the lively mix of grainy pear, pineapple and macadamia nut flavors, plus grated ginger and pink grapefruit zest, ending with a creamy finish. Drink now. 7,500 cases made, 3,300 cases imported. -AN"

97 Eric Guido - Vinous Media
The 2018 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico slowly evolves with a whimsical mix of dusty dried violets, cedar box, cardamom, stone dust and dried black cherries. It displays textures of pure silk, lifted and feminine in nature, as bright red berry fruits wash across the palate, leaving a tactile staining of minerals and sweet tannins. The 2018 shows incredible length and poise, leaving blue and purple inner florals over notes of licorice and clove through the lightly structured and completely harmonious finale. Bury this radiant beauty deep in the cellar.

2023 Donnhoff Felsenberg Trocken G.G. Riesling Riesling from Germany
#143960 750 mL
2023 Donnhoff Felsenberg Trocken G.G. Riesling
96-98 Anne Krebiehl MW - Vinous Media
The 2023 Riesling Schlossböckelheimer Felsenberg Felsentürmchen Grosses Gewächs is picked in the fully south-facing site of porphyry and melaphyr. Cornelius Dönnhoff says this is the most challenging site to work, simply because the stones are so hard and unforgiving, retaining almost no water. Thus, a year like 2023 was brilliant for this site. It is always the first GG site to be harvested because the rock retains heat from the day. Tender reduction still casts a flinty spell on the nose. Lovely savor implies crushed citrus foliage merged into iron oxide on the nose. The palate is taut, citric, bright with immense linearity, moving with absolute ease and direction, with energy and punch, towards a zesty, cool finish, long, sustained, all with savor and saltiness. The 2023 is a total joy of clarity, direction and stony poise. This is so elegant, so slender, so powerful, and no, this is not a contradiction. (Bone-dry
98 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
Radically smoky and massively structured in spite of being only medium-bodied, this astonishingly dry riesling expresses the personality of this volcanic site with great authority and precision. So much spice, structure and hardness in the positive sense, meaning that this is not a wine for the faint of heart. Massive power in the imposing finish, yet absolutely clean and bright. Drink or hold.

2022 Orto Vins Blanc D'orto Brisat Montsant Grenache Blanc from Spain
#151905 750 mL
2022 Orto Vins Blanc D'orto Brisat Montsant
93 Luis Gutierrez - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2022 Blanc d'Orto Brisat differs from the regular Blanc d'Orto in the skin contact, which here is 21 days in stainless steel, and the wine matured in used 500-liter barrels for six months. Furthermore, this was selected from a specific plot planted in 1948, and the wine has more balanced parameters, 13.55% alcohol, a pH of 3.42 and 4.8 grams of acidity. In my book, if you do skin contact, this is the way to do it, not overpowering the wine, adding nuance, weight and complexity but keeping the DNA of the grape and the place. Well done, guys! 1,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in the spring of 2024."
