2016 Chateau Malescot St. Exupery Blend from France
#135025 750 mL
2016 Chateau Malescot St. Exupery
97 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
A stunning red with currants, blackberries, roses and violets. Medium to full body, ultra-fine tannins and polish and finesse to the powerful tannins. A real stunner. Better than 2015. Take a serious look at it, beginning 2024.
95 Neal Martin - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2016 Malescot-St-Exupery has an opulent, lavish and pure bouquet with billowing black cherry and blueberry fruit, a touch of mint and graphite emerging with time. I love the delineation to this Margaux. The palate is very well balanced, sensual and voluptuous in style, but that does not detract from the fine structure here and the precision towards the finish. Everything seems to be in its right place here; it is one of the best Malescot-St-Exupery that I have tasted and it is wonderful.
95 Lisa Perrotti-Brown - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Malescot St. Exupery sings of cassis, fragrant earth, tobacco and lilacs with a compelling waft of mocha. Medium to full-bodied and strutting loads of expressive fruit layers at this youthful stage, it's framed by ripe, grainy tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing with great length and depth.
92-95 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
The 2016 Malescot Saint Exupéry is fabulous. Powerful and explosive on the palate, the 2016 offers serious intensity, but it also appears to be holding back quite a bit of its potential. Moreover, what impresses me most is that in 2016, intensity is delivered more with finesse than with the brutish power that is such a signature of Malescot. Deep and resonant, but also remarkably polished, the 2016 Malescot is a winner. Hints of iron, smoke, cedar, tobacco and scorched earth add nuance, but it is the wine's sense of poise that is most remarkable. I loved it. Tasted three times.

The 2023 Bourgogne Rouge is a blend from two lieux-dits. It has a vibrant nose with cranberry and wild strawberry fruit in good concentration for a regional wine. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins that frame the fleshy red fruit. Enjoy this well-made red over the next four or five years.

2024 Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand
#144803 750 mL
2024 Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc
93 Erin Brooks - Robert Parker's the Wine Advocate
The 2024 Sauvignon Blanc was hand delivered to me in Fremantle by winemaker Richelle Tyney from Greywacke, all the way from Marlborough, New Zealand—roughly 5,200 kilometers between us. The wine leads with passion fruit and white pineapple, green apple, beeswax and brine. The wine is salty, fine and sedate—the characters are all in balance with each other. I love this wine from this small producer. It is intense and concentrated, shaped by savory phenolics and loaded with crunchy New Zealand acidity. This speaks of the place in a clear, unfettered voice, and it's brilliant for that. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
93 Wine Spectator
This white’s vibrant, aromatic flavors of lemon blossoms, ripe peach, kumquat and lime sherbet show focus and intensity on a smooth, sleek body. Touches of candied ginger and green tea linger on the fresh finish. Drink now. 10,000 cases imported.

2021 E. Pira Chiara Boschis Barolo Cannubi Nebbiolo from Italy
#149489 750 mL
2021 E. Pira Chiara Boschis Barolo Cannubi
98 Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
This is a phenomenal wine that highlights the hard work and expertise of Chiara Boschis and her brother Giorgio. The E. Pira e Figli - Chiara Boschis 2021 Barolo Cannubi is made with organic Nebbiolo clones of Michet and Lampia planted in a tiny 0.7-hectare plot at 300 meters above sea level on the powdery white limestone soils from the Miocene epoch that characterize this celebrated cru. The wine is refined and delicate with rose hip, violet and pure cherry essence. The aromas are stacked with soaring vertical intensity, and they give this wine an especially bright and lifted bouquet. The mouthfeel outperforms most of its peers thanks to its tight and silky essence and the clean powdery feel of its tannins. The Cannubi is showing very nicely now, but the Mosconi could benefit from more time in bottle. This is a limited release of 4,000 bottles.
98 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
Aromas of red fruit, dried herbs, cola, earth and a touch of licorice. Medium- to full-bodied with chewy but not overbearing tannins, neat fruit flavors and a subtly chewy finish. A very absorbing wine. Already approachable, but it will improve with a year of cellaring. Best from 2026.
97 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
The 2021 Barolo Cannubi is pure sensuality. Creamy, silky tannins wrap around a core of dark red/purplish fruit, rose petal, mint, spice, blood orange and lavender. Everything here speaks to balance. Pretty floral top notes lift the eternal, saline finish. The 2021 is impeccably done. It’s a very pretty and complete Barolo from Chiara Boschis.
97 Wine Spectator
Menthol, eucalyptus, sweet spice and salty, mineral flavors swirl around the core of macerated cherry and plum in this lively, sophisticated and finely textured version. Tips toward the tannins in the mix today, with a savory aftertaste, yet this red is all about finesse. Beautifully balanced and long. Best from 2029 through 2047. 275 cases made, 100 cases imported.
97 Audrey Frick - jebdunnuck.com
The 2021 Barolo Cannubi is a jeweled ruby color and is fragrant, floral, and complex with aromas of fresh flowers, black raspberries, cherries, fresh spice, and sweet orange citrus. Medium-bodied, the palate is highly elegant and graceful, with refined, even tannins, ripe acidity, and a long finish with a great feel throughout. This continues to be one of the top expressions coming out of Cannubi and offers both immediate pleasure and a wide window for enjoyment over the coming decades.

1963 Dalva 1963 Golden White 500ml Blend from Portugal
#106451 500 mL
1963 Dalva 1963 Golden White 500ml
95 Mark Squires - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 1963 Golden White Port (Dalva) is mostly a blend of Malvasia Fina, Viosinho and Rabigato, coming in at 130 grams per liter of residual sugar. This has been seen before, but this is the new 2017 bottling now in the USA. Not much has changed. This takes the gorgeous 1971 and adds some power, viscosity and intensity to it. It shows a little more complexity and it is burlier. It is often very much like a tawny in flavor. Taste this "white Colheita" blind and you may wonder if it is indeed white. It is still fresh and lifted, if not quite as bright and as youthful as the 1971. Overall, though, the added complexity seals the deal here, while the 1971 gets the nod for brightness. You slowly realize this does everything brilliantly. Which you prefer will be a matter of taste. I tend to emphasize complexity and my nod is to this, but I won't be surprised if some argue with me. The 1971 is pretty brilliant, too, if a bit more understated. This is another impressive White Port this issue from C. da Silva. Drink 2017-2040

Taylor Fladgate 40 Year Tawny Port Port Varieties from Portugal
#70831 750 mL
Taylor Fladgate 40 Year Tawny Port
"The NV 40 Year Old Tawny Port was bottled with a bar top cork in 2014. It comes in with 125 grams per liter of residual sugar. Big, weighty and mouth filling, this is an aromatic Tawny that finishes with acidity and tension. Gripping on the finish, its flavors become more interesting as long as it sits in the glass (or on your palate). It is not, perhaps, as sunny as the Fonseca, its sibling reviewed this issue, but it is denser and more gripping. Comparing to the Taylor 30 (also reviewed), I'm not sure I liked the 40 here all that much better. The 30 is a bit fleshier while this 40 is a bit more concentrated in flavor and aromatics. Perhaps some additional age also helped this 40 combat some of the aggression on the 30. They are both pretty fine, a difference of five to Midnight and five after, rather than night and day. It is still a fine experience and my favorite of the group. Don't drink it too warm. Room temperature is mostly too warm. The sweet spot for most tends to be 58-62 degrees Fahrenheit."
95 Wine Enthusiast
"A superb wine, elegance and weight combined magisterially. It has all the right mature flavors, ripe fruit, intense marmalade and concentration. This is a wine with a great reputation, and the taste doesn't let that reputation down. Imported by Kobrand."

91-93 Jasper Morris, MW - Inside Burgundy
Pale colour, the fruit has a waxy lemon note to it medium bodied, though with good intensity towards the back of the palate, indeed this does have impressive persistence. The fruit is generous enough, apple and persimmon, to cover the bones, with a light citrus wash to finish. Drink from 2027-2033. Tasted Nov 2024.

This fortified red blend was aged in wood for 20 years. That has taken away fruitiness and, as with an aged Tawny Port, has given the wine flavors of dried prune, spice and old wood aromas. The wine is for sipping and savoring, ready to drink now. — Roger Voss

2023 Joh. Jos. Prum Graacher Himmelreich Auslese Riesling
95 Stephan Reinhardt - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2023 Graacher Himmelreich Spätlese is very intense and open on the complex and saline nose that is reminiscent of crushed slate rocks as well as ripe and intense, dense citrus fruit intermingled with lemon aromas. Round and refined on the palate, this is a lively and savory Riesling with a firm, mineral structure and floral flavors on the complex and youthful finish. This is a Spätlese to be aged for at least 5+ years. 8% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine from AP 07 24 in January 2025.

Taylor Fladgate 30 Year Tawny Port
95 Wine & Spirits
No tasting note provided "Only every two or three years is a reserve of Port with sufficient structure, fruit and power to age laid aside to age in oak casks. Those that have reached their peak after thirty years are then blended together for balance and finesse, and to ensure consistency of quality and style. The 30 year old tawny is one such wine. The wines are matured in seasoned oak casks in Taylor’s cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia. Here the cool and damp coastal climate encourages a slow and gentle ageing process, producing aromas of great complexity and finesse." -Winery
