89 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
The NV Champagne Brut is 62% Pinot Noir, 28% Meunier, and the rest Chardonnay. Its nose is floral and confectionary with aromas sweet pastry, flowers, and juicy pear. This translates to the palate, which is medium-bodied, with sweet fruit, suggesting an aperitif. It is clean and pure, with a kiss of sweetness from the dosage. Drink over the next 6-8 years.

2021 Guido Porro Barolo Lazzairasco
97 Kerin O'Keefe - kerinokeefe.com
Made with 65-year-old vines, the oldest in the entire Lazzarito cru, the compelling Guido Porro 2021 Lazzairasco boasts intense aromas of rose, forest floor, menthol and woodland berry. Always the most austere of the estate's Barolos, the focused, firmly structured palate has great precision, delivering red cherry, raspberry, licorice, orange peel and mentholated notes alongside a backbone of firm, fine-grained tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it energized and balanced. Drink 2031-2046.
96 Michaela Morris - Decanter Magazine
If you can’t get your hands on Guido Porro’s exceptional Vignarionda (or even if you can) the Vigna Lazzairasco is a rewarding and affordable sidestep. It is also produced in more ample quantities – 10,000 bottles. Direct and precise but still very young and austere, it suggests bay leaf, fennel and mint blossom. Blood and iron course through the dark, red berry core. Tannins are steely but well padded. They stretch out and give proper bite. Spicy on the finish, this definitely needs more time.

A heady perfume of lemon peel, white grapefruit and florals, with a metallic, coppery tinge opens. Flavors are more muted, the gentle creamy texture and mouth-watering acidity, which creeps in on the midpalate, taking center stage. Subtle enough to handle boldly flavored cuisine like Thai or Mexican. — Christina Pickard
87 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
An ersatz field blend, co-fermented: vermentino (73%), fiano (16%) and backing vocals of grechetto, greco, glera, pinot bianco and grigio. Light-weighted, bright, frisky and immensely versatile at the table. Stone fruit allusions meld with accents of quince, preserved lemon, tangerine and frangipani. The finish, a saline slake of powdery phenolics. Easy drinking stuff with a whiff of intrigue. Drink now.

93 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
The 2021 Chardonnay Bentrock opens with striking, expansive aromatics. There's a bit more new oak here, and that also comes through. Orchard fruit, mint, white flowers, white pepper and pear all open with some coaxing. I especially admire the wine's inner sweetness. All the 2021 needs is a bit of time to emerge. <

90 Rebecca Gibb MW - Vinous Media
Wild fermentation, a little bit of barrel-aging on lees and a 10% addition of Sémillon in the blend make the 2023 Sauvignon Blanc far from your stereotypical Marlborough style. This wine plays on its clarity, texture and freshness. It's aromatically subtle, with green notes meeting nectarine and blackcurrant. While the region's natural freshness abounds, the wine retains a round shape and natural curve before being sewn up by a thread of acidity. There are layers of interest here that will keep you coming back.

2024 G.B. Burlotto Barbera D'alba Barbera from Italy

2024 G.B. Burlotto Barbera D'alba
91 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
The 2024 Barbera d'Alba is another stellar entry-level wine from Burlotto. Dark red/purplish fruit, lavender, rose petal, sage and mocha caress the palate. Fabio Alessandria did not bottle Aves, his top Barbera; instead, all of the fruit was used for this bottling. As a result, the 2024 is especially strong. Stylistically, there is a touch of new oak from the Aves lots that went into the blend.
