This is a lighter-bodied Chardonnay where just enough acidity matches up with flavors of lemon, toasted marshmallow and white grapefruit. Given that trovato means "found" in Italian, it is appropriate that this wine is a nice find.

"Production was down slightly in 2022, but Modus Operandi's 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon is reassuringly excellent, with bold notes of black cherries and raspberries on the nose. It's 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% each Merlot and Malbec, with elements coming from Coombsville, Atlas Peak and Carneros; there's even some Sage Ridge and Houyi fruit in the mix as well. Nicely done, it's not overly ripe or tannic, being full-bodied and structured but ripe and supple enough to sample now, with a lingering crystalline quality to the finish."

Disgorged in June of 2025 with zero dosage and based on 100% Marsanne, the 2020 Saint-Péray Les Bulles D'Alain displays a medium gold hue with very fine bubbles. It offers a classy nose of ripe orchard fruits, brioche, green almonds, and croissant. It's medium-bodied and has a pure, layered, elegant mousse, terrific balance, and outstanding length. I like it today, yet it should keep nicely through 2035. Drink 2026-2035.

Rich golden yellow in colour. An intense nose of ripe yellow apple, thyme, some lardo, and grown-up undertones. The fine mousse plays around the palate with tasty tart notes of quince and grapefruit, allied to a pleasant acid core. Good length on the finish, ending with white chocolate in the aftertaste. An exceptional Crémant made from 100 percent Marsanne.

The outgoing 2020 Saint-Péray Les Bulles d'Alain first projects forthright yellow apple, ripe pear, white peach and twists of brioche. Dried blossom adds a gentle floral lift. Medium-bodied and vivifying, the 2020 is an enticing Les Bulles d'Alain, settling the final impression with toasty finesse on the complex final beat. Disgorged June 2023. Zero dosage. Lot Nr. "This generous and well-structured 2021 Chateauneuf has excellent raspberry and strawberry aromas for the challenging vintage, plus notes of floral aromas. Surprisingly fine tannins, too. Still very youthful and in need of a bit of time in bottle to reach ideal harmony, but the freshness at the finish is already delightful. A cuvee 75% grenache, 10% syrah, 10% mourvedre and 5% cinsault that were co-fermented, then matured in foudre. Drinkable now, but best from 2024."
