2023 Filipa Pato Tinto Bairrada Nossa Calcario Baga
97 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
Earthy with dried flowers, very complex, with red fruit and darker tones in the background. The palate is tender and refined, medium- to full-bodied, with supple, chalky tannins and a delicate yet substantial thread of dark fruit. A beautifully pure and energetic expression of baga. Sourced from three vineyards, 100 to 140 years old, planted on clay-limestone soils. The grapes are partially destemmed, fermented in open wood lagares, and aged 12 to 18 months in 500- and 1,500-liter used oak barrels. From biodynamically grown grapes, Demeter and Ecocert certified. Drink now or hold.

99 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
There’s a purity and beauty to this that impresses you the minute you put your nose in the glass. So aromatic. Flowers, graphite, blackcurrants and hints of gunmetal. Medium- to full-bodied with tannins that coat your mouth but give a feeling of fine cashmere. The length and intensity is calm but rather endless. 45% merlot, 40% cabernet sauvignon,10% cabernet franc and 5% petite verdot. From organically grown grapes. Best after 2028.

2021 Juanvi Viticultor Quercus Grenache / Garnacha from Spain
#141721 750 mL
2021 Juanvi Viticultor Quercus
93 Luis Gutierrez - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2021 Rubus Quercus (Juanvi Quercus in the US) is a blend of approximately 70% Garnacha and 30% Miguel del Arco from 40- to 50-year-old vines at 800 to 960 meters in altitude. 2021 was cooler, healthy but low yielding because of a snowstorm in January and frost in April. It fermented with some 10% full clusters and indigenous yeasts with a long maceration of four weeks and matured in second and third used 500-liter oak barrels for six months. It has a bright ruby color and a perfumed and floral nose and is elegant, very tasty, harmonious and nuanced. It's spicy and fresh, with integrated oak, and it's more soil- than fruit-driven. It's ripe with 14.4% alcohol and good freshness. 6,600 bottles were filled in two lots, in May and December 2022.

2022 Domaine Rollin Pernand Vergelesses Rouge
88-90 Neal Martin - Vinous Media
The 2022 Pernand-Vergelesses Rouge is nicely focused and quite floral in style, offering plenty of juicy red cherries and wild strawberry fruit on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with ample red fruit and gentle grip. There is a pleasant "verticality" to this modest Pernand that delivers plenty of sapidity on the approachable, pliant finish. For the price, this is worth seeking out. Tasted at merchants' 2022 Burgundy tastings in London.

Bright and beautiful, this harmonious version integrates mouthwatering acidity with a rich range of pureed apricot, dried raspberry and orange marmalade, with hints of praline, crystallized honey and sea salt. There's a plushness to the texture without being weighty; this is long and expressive on the finish. Furmint and Hárslevelü. Drink now through 2038. 22,779 cases made, 1,850 cases imported.

2023 Anselmo Mendes Curtimenta
94 Luis Gutierrez - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2023 Curtimenta is a skin-contact Alvarinho. There was an evolution of the wines from 2001 to 2009, when he reduced the time in contact with the skins (of the destemmed grapes) to find the balance, which, in this case, was 25 hours at slightly higher temperatures. The fermentation started spontaneously, and the juice finished fermenting with the full lees in 400-liter barrels, where the wine matured. It's a little more phenolic, more aromatic, round and with very fine tannin and has a dry and chalky finish. 4,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2024.

92 Wine Enthusiast
A sophisticated take on Friulian Sauvignon that transcends the typical varietal playbook. Fleshy yellow peach aromas mingle with crushed stones and sun-warmed yellow flowers, setting up an intriguing dance between fruit and mineral. The palate delivers impressive concentration, think ripe mango, caramelized grapefruit, and exotic passionfruit, yet remains remarkably poised thanks to laser-focused acidity and that distinctive Ponca soil minerality.

"Creamy, with honeyed flavors of passion fruit, guava and spice that show a hint of candle wax. There's good intensity to the acidity in this exuberant rosé, and it just balances the tropical overtones, with an off-dry, moderate finish. Drink now. -AN" (Reviewed 2012)

2021 Colgin Cariad Red
100 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
The 2021 Cariad is another First Growth Bordeaux look-alike from Colgin. Darker currants, smoked tobacco, graphite, bouquet garni, and some exotic, meaty notions dominate the bouquet, and it's massively concentrated on the palate, with full-bodied richness, a deep, layered mid-palate, polished tannins, and a gorgeous finish. It actually has some upfront appeal due to its incredible balance and texture, yet smart money will still hide these for 5-7 years. It will have 30+ years of overall longevity.

2022 Summer Dreams Twilight Pinot Noir
97 Lisa Perrotti-Brown - The Wine Independent
Medium ruby-purple colored, the 2022 Twilight Pinot Noir slowly emerges from the glass with the most beautiful perfume of rose bud tea and dried lavender, opening out to a core of kirsch, black raspberries, and mulberries, plus hints of underbrush and iron ore. The medium to full-bodied palate is intense with mineral-laced red and black fruit flavors, supported by grainy tannins and lovely freshness, finishing on a persistent ferrous note.
96 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
Lastly, the 2022 Pinot Noir Twilight is one of the riper, more marine influenced wines in the lineup. Ripe red and black fruits, autumn leaves, sea breeze, and subtle baking spice notes all define the aromatics, and it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a round, layered mouthfeel, and velvety tannins.

92 Wine & Spirits
"Oak-aged base wines give this an architectural power, structuring the lees into scents of fresh croissant and hon-shimeji mushrooms. It’s creamy and full, with enough zesty acidity to keep the velvet texture in check. Pour it with pan-roasted fish finished with chanterelles and cream." (Reviewed 12/12)
91 Allen Meadows - Burghound
"A beautifully pure and elegant nose speaks of citrus, green apple, rose petal and a distinct vinous character. There is plenty of effervescence on the moderately refined flavors that display ample yeastiness on the delicious, complex, dry and lingering finish. This doesn't have quite the delicacy of the best of the vintage wines but this is an excellent NV Brut. This could certainly be enjoyed now but for those who enjoy aging their NV selections, this would be a fine choice as it will probably offer from 2 to 5 years of upside development potential." (1/13)
