"This juicy red has aromas of baked cherries, vanilla, orange peel and grilled herbs. It’s medium-bodied with medium tannins and a fruity, lightly jammy character. Drink now." - Claire Nesbitt
89 Eric Guido - Vinous Media
"The 2023 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riparosso grumbles up with a hauntingly dark blend of citrus-tinged blackberry, wet stone and balsamic spice. Silken in texture yet lifted in feel, this cascades across the palate with tart wild berry fruit and crunchy mineral tones, all elevated by a core of zesty acidity. Just gently tannic, it leaves a violet resonance through the slightly angular finale."

2021 Whitehall Lane Napa Cabernet Sauvignon
91 Joe Czerwinski - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The price of Whitehall Lane's 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon has gone up 20% since I reviewed the 2019, but past experience is that savvy shoppers may be able to find it slightly discounted. It still represents a decent value in the realm of Napa Cabernet. Black cherries and dusty loam notes are joined by hints of sage and thyme plus barrel-derived accents of vanilla and maple syrup. Medium to full-bodied, it's silky and supple, easy to drink, yet with enough structure to partner rare beef.

#151726 750 mL
2023 Bedrock Heritage Red Dolinsek Ranch
96 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
"The 2023 Dolinsek Ranch Heritage Wine is a wild, exotic wine. Red cherry, kirsch, apricot, mint, blood orange, spice, rose petal and sweet spice all grace this layered, silky Zinfandel-based field blend from vines planted in 1910. The presence of some white grapes adds character. The Dolinsek is such a distinctive wine, one that truly soars in 2023."
94 Erin Brooks - Robert Parker's the Wine Advocate
"The 2023 Zinfandel Dolinsek Ranch Heritage comes from Zinfandel vines interplanted in 1910 with smaller portions of Alicante Bouschet, Barbera, Syrah, Black Muscat and other varieties. From grapes harvested very late on October 13, it has inviting aromas of red and black cherries and berries, wildflowers and spice. The medium-bodied palate features concentrated yet detailed flavors. It’s framed by soft, silky tannins and mouthwatering acidity and has a long, spicy finish. It opens dramatically with air and will benefit from 3-5 years in the cellar."

Melon, stone fruits, brioche, and honeyed flower notes all shine in the 2023 Chardonnay, a medium-bodied, juicy, lively Chardonnay that has integrated acidity and a supple, hard-to-resist style. It's a terrific value. Drink bottles over the coming 3-5 years. Drink 2025-2030.
91 Billy Norris - Vinous Media
The 2023 Chardonnay is delicious. Bright and lifted, it's a wine of notable energy and cut, with excellent delineation of flavors. Ripe tropical fruit, spice and chalk meld together in this characterful Chardonnay.

2020 Olga Raffault Chinon "Les Peuilles" Cabernet Franc from France

2020 Olga Raffault Chinon "Les Peuilles"
92 John Gilman - View from the Cellar
"Domaine Olga Raffault’s 2020 “les Peuilles” is a superb young bottle of Chinon. The bouquet is deep, complex and very precise, wafting from the glass in a mix of dark berries, cassis, cigar ash, flinty soil tones, tree bark, just a hint of oak and plenty of upper register smokiness. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and complex, with a lovely core of black fruit, fine soil signature, ripe, seamless tannins, fine focus and grip and a long, beautifully balanced and complex finish. There is just a whisper of brett here, but compared to vintages from the domaine back in the 1990s, it is virtually undetectable in comparison. Good juice. 2030-2075."

2024 Chateau Haut Marbuzet Blend from France
#150822 750 mL
2024 Chateau Haut Marbuzet
86-88 Yohan Castaing - Robert Parker's the Wine Advocate
A blend of 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, the 2024 Haut-Marbuzet shows a more reserved and austere character than in recent vintages. It opens with aromas of dark berries, flowers and subtle spices. Medium-bodied, the wine is juicy and supple, driven by tangy acidity and framed by firm tannins that lead to a compact, somewhat short finish. Hailstorms significantly impacted the Marbuzet plateau, and the damage is evident in the diminished quality and concentration of this year’s wine.
