Domaine Saint Damien is a wine estate based in the village and appellation of Gigondas, in the southern Rhône region of France. The estate makes a range of wines associated with the area, including a range of red, Grenache-based Gigondas and Plan de Dieu cuvées as well as a rosé and other reds.
The domaine was established by Joël Suarel in 1979 and was named after a ruined (and no longer extant) chapel in the area. It now boasts 45 hectares (110 acres) across the local area, a third of which is in Gigondas itself.
The estate is currently run by Joël's son, Romain, who joined the enterprise in 2013, following his enology studies.
Estate vineyards cover Gigondas, Côtes-du-Rhône Villages and Vin de France (the latter planted with varieties including Marselan and Caladoc although the wine – Le 10 de Saint Damien – remains predominantly Grenache-based). The estate also is certified organic by Agriculture Biologique.
