2023 Domaine Roulot Auxey Duresses Rouge 1er Cru
88-90 Jasper Morris, MW - Inside Burgundy
Grand Champ and Bas de Duresses. The former will disappear from 2025, along with some Bourgogne Blanc as part of the deal which has enabled the purchase of the new Meursault and Beaune Teurons vineyards. Slightly lighter and perhaps bonier than the Monthelie but still with a good concentration behind. Drink from 2027-2030. Tasted Oct 2024.

2021 Best's Great Western Shiraz Bin No. 1
94 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
This is good. A cooler climatic expression that remains distinctly Australian, rather than playing the reductive hand of an ersatz Rhone. An exceptional nose of mace, clove, blue fruits, olive and briar, backed by a wave of beef bouillon and iodine-umami warmth. The tannins, a clatter across the middle, with a bow of dutiful acidity drawn to just the right degree of tension. Some scrubby menthol dries the finish ever so slightly. This said, this is a delicious wine of immense personality and soul. Drink or hold.

2010 Cerbaiona Brunello Di Montalcino Sangiovese from Italy
#85964 750 mL
2010 Cerbaiona Brunello Di Montalcino
100 Antonio Galloni - Vinous
"The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is every bit as thrilling as it was on the many occasions I tasted it from barrel. Black cherry, hard candy, plum, rose petal, menthol and lavender saturate the palate in a sumptuous, racy Brunello endowed with magnificent depth and pedigree. An utterly stunning, sensual wine, the 2010 constantly changes in the glass as it conquers all the senses with an exotic kaleidoscope of aromas, flavors and textures. I remember tasting the 2010 from cask a few years ago when Diego Molinari was too unwell to go down to the cellar. Nora Molinari tasked me with essentially serving myself as we went from vintage to vintage and cask to cask. For days after, I was mortified that I might not have closed some of the spigots tightly enough. Fortunately, that was not the case. In all of my years tasting the wines of Montalcino, I have only come across two wines with this level of textural unctuosity and sweetness; Gianfranco Soldera's 1983 Brunello and 1990 Riserva. Cerbaiona's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino will leave readers weak at the knees. It is every bit that profound."
98 Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is an absolutely distinctive wine and one unlike this producer has ever released. It feels radically different in terms of concentration, intensity and complexity. I was blown away by the beautiful and profound sense of inner harmony on display here. The wine puts on an epic showing of aromas that span from the simple ripe cherry and blackcurrant to the most ethereal tones of balsam herb, root beer and licorice. In between, are hearty aromas of cured tobacco and smoked meat. It really has it all along the entire Sangiovese spectrum. In the mouth, the wine offers similar complexity with thick extraction backed by sweet and sour layers of fruit and tannic structure. If you are looking for outstanding Brunello, look no further. This is one of the top three wines of the vintage. Drink Date: 2017 - 2035
97 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is serious stuff and one powerhouse of a Brunello. Deep, rich, black fruits, roasted herbs, some smoke meat notes, licorice, and loads of spice take some coaxing at first, yet the wine quickly offers loads of fireworks with aeration. This full-bodied, massively concentrated Brunello has ripe tannins, a stacked mid-palate, and awesome length. Give it a decant if drinking any time soon.

2022 Chateau D'yquem Sauternes Blend from France

2022 Chateau D'yquem Sauternes
100 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
A perfect Yquem again after the 2021, which is fresher and more refined than the 2022. The perception of sweetness is super-knit. Lots of botrytis, with turmeric, saffron, cream, roasted meringue, pine nuts, spices and dried mangoes. This is a powerful, seductive and lush wine. Ornamented and richer this year than 2021, but there is so much charm and harmony. Long and spicy, with a hint of petrol at the end. Wow. The second most concentrated Yquem after 1945, according to the winemaker. About 160 grams of residual sugar. So approachable now, but better in five or six years. It will live forever.
100 Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Combining incredible power, sweetness, and opulence with racy acidity and a touch of bitterness on the backend offsetting all the rich, honey-slathered fruits, it takes only a single sniff and sip to discern that this is one of the great vintages produced by Chateau d'Yquem. That says a lot, considering all the fabulous vintages the estate has crafted. The palate showcases its wealth of honeyed fruits alongside Indian spices and a vibrancy found in no other sweet wine. The wine envelops your palate, teeth, and gums leaving you with a zesty finish that lingers for a full 60 seconds and more! This is a legend in the making! Like all great vintages of Chateau d'Yquem, you can enjoy this with pleasure in its youth, with its sweet, ripe fruits showcasing a unique sense of honeyed purity, or you can save it for your grandchildren. Drink from 2027-2100.
98 Neal Martin - Vinous Media
The 2022 Yquem is a blend of 80% Sémillon and 20% Sauvignon Blanc with 160 g/L residual sugar and a total acidity of 5.39 g/L. It is the first certified organic vintage for the estate and has the lowest level of total sulphur ever: 234 g/L, high within the sphere of wine but comparatively low for Sauternes. The 2022 was aged for 24 months in new barrels that underwent slightly less drying than those used for red wines in order to retain some green tannins. Given the growing season, the 2022 Yquem has a surprisingly understated bouquet that demands coaxing. Scents of orange pith, passion fruit and quince are exquisitely defined, a hint of chamomile dancing around in the background. The palate is medium-bodied. Given the high level of residual sugar, what is surprising is that the 2022 does not seem a weighty or texturally unctuous Yquem, yet there is an intensity and concentration that is arresting. Vivid flavours of clementine, wild honey, quince and tangerine that effortlessly combine. The acidity almost nonchalantly counters the sensation of residual sugar, so it feels less than it actually is, the scintilla of salinity toward the finish tempting you back for more. This is a marvellous and quite cerebral Yquem for which patience is required.
98 Yohan Castaing - Robert Parker's the Wine Advocate
A blend of 80% Sémillon and 20% Sauvignon Blanc, the 2022 d'Yquem is a strong candidate for the title of wine of the vintage. Exhibiting a remarkably delicate, complex and energetic bouquet of rose, confit citrus, exotic fruits and orange marmalade, it's full-bodied, dense and deep with a pristine balance enhanced by a fleshy core of fruit, bright acids and beautiful, gastronomic bitterness and dry extracts that segue to a long, ethereal, delicately perfumed and refined finish. Lorenzo Pasquini and his team have perfectly understood the vintage by privileging the third tries, fully exposed to Botrytis cinerea, in the blend, bringing density and precision along with an energetic and splendidly balanced interplay of bitterness and sweetness. Residual sugar levels reach 160 grams per liter, marking it as the second-highest since the iconic 1945 vintage.

A properly dry pinot gris that is a model of balance and harmony, the creaminess balanced by discreet freshness on the medium-bodied palate. I love the fresh melon and orange blossom aromas. Just a hint of tannin in the finish adds a bit of tension. Drink now.

94 Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The La Gerla 2019 Brunello di Montalcino has spicy, dried fruit with blackcurrant, pinecone, juniper berry and a hint of medicinal herb or camphor ash. The oak comes through clearly in the form of mulled spice or crushed clove. This Brunello is rather streamlined on the mid-palate, and although there is some mild chalkiness to the tannins, they are almost approachable now. Production is 40,000 bottles.

This is really complex on the nose with very ripe fruit, yet it turns to white truffles and fresh mushrooms. Some fresh flowers as well. Full-bodied, round and creamy tannins with beautiful fruit and a long, flavorful finish.
91 Wine Spectator
"Shows more freshness-and less of a ripe, syrupy quality-than some of its peers, with a fine balance between juicy currant and tangy black cherry fruit and notes of tar, chocolate shavings and spice box. Features a fresh linen weight instead of the more typical Amarone velvet, and lightly chalky tannins show on the firm finish. AN" (08/11)

Potent, earthy aromas like dried black figs, black truffles and oak char lead to a firm, tannic palate packed with black fruits, dark chocolate, graphite and cedar notes. The wine is intensely concentrated, showing good potential for aging. Best from 2026–2036.
Earthy aromas of plums, black cherries and just-ripe figs. An intensely dark color with a plush yet structured palate and flavors of dark chocolate and graphite. Abundant yet integrated tannins. A powerful full body. Drink or hold.
