2023 Rocim & Barbeito A Meias Madeirense Verdelho Anfora White Blend from Portugal
#151123 750 mL
2023 Rocim & Barbeito A Meias Madeirense Verdelho Anfora White
93 Luis Gutierrez - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The white 2023 Rocim & Barbeito A Meias is a collaboration between Barbeito and Heredade do Rocim from Alentejo where they are famous for their use of amphorae. So, they produced a varietal Verdelho that fermented and matured in clay amphorae that they sent from Alentejo to Madeira. It has a moderate 11% alcohol and is mineral, wide and faintly salty, serious, clean and nuanced, characterful, vibrant and fresh, long and tasty. This is quite impressive. Only 322 numbered bottles produced.

2013 Tenuta Dell'ornellaia Ornellaia Bolgheri Superiore Blend from Italy
#150531 750 mL
2013 Tenuta Dell'ornellaia Ornellaia Bolgheri Superiore
96+ Antonio Galloni - Vinous
The 2013 Ornellaia continues to put on weight with time in bottle. I have tasted the 2013 three times over the last few months and watched it blossom over that time. Fresh, vibrant and tightly wound, the 2013 is going to need at least a few years to come into its own. There is striking purity to the aromas and flavors, along with plenty of tension and enough energy to reward cellaring.
96 Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
This wine will be released in May 2016. The 2013 Bolgheri Superiore Ornellaia is an integrated and seamless blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Alex Heinz tells me that 2013 was a difficult vintage especially towards the early part of the growing season. It balanced out during the summer and allowed for steady ripening of fruit before the harvest. But 2013 was not as hot as 2011 and 2012 overall, and this edition of Ornellaia is beautifully tonic and shapely as a result. The bouquet is very developed in terms of aromas this year with beautiful notes of dark fruit, tobacco and spice. Those perfumes are just gorgeous. The mouthfeel is similarly intense with tannins that are still young, but are already silky and linear in nature. This vintage promises a long aging future.

97 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
Welcome to the far north of Riesling, which theoretically doesnâ„¢t exist any more thanks to climate change, but here it is in a glass. Super crystalline and pure on the medium-bodied palate. Mouthwatering finish that is also beautifully balanced. What energy. From organically grown grapes from vines planted in 1937. Drink or hold

2021 Shea Wine Cellars Homer Pinot Noir Pinot Noir from United States
#152078 750 mL
2021 Shea Wine Cellars Homer Pinot Noir
95 Eric Guido - Vinous Media
"The 2021 Pinot Noir Homer Shea Vineyard is seductively spicy in character, with depths of woodland berries, cloves, star anise and cedar shavings forming its alluring bouquet. This is a model of elegance: a dense wave of ripe red fruits and spices is effortlessly lifted by brilliant acidity, and a primary staining slowly saturates the palate toward the close. The Homer finishes classically dry and crunchy, structured yet fresh and balanced for a long, steady evolution. While already a pleasure due to its beautifully integrated oak (43% new), the real magic will come forward with maturity."
91 Clive Pursehouse - Decanter Magazine
"A barrel selection sourced from the best 10 barrels in a given vintage. The aromatics are rich and ripe. Notes of dried fig, kirsch and blackberry compote follow notes of dried violet and crushed stone. The palate is rich and powerful. Crushed basalt minerality is met with ripe blackberry, Italian plum and black cherry. Notes of espresso bean and rich dark chocolate follow. There is structure and power rather than finesse, chewy tannin and ample oak influence. The finish trails off."

2022 Sassicaia Tenuta San Guido Bolgheri Blend from Italy
#146513 750 mL
2022 Sassicaia Tenuta San Guido Bolgheri
98 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
"Plenty of red currant, cedar, iron and terra cotta aromas follow through to a medium to full body with graphite, sandalwood, red currants and fresh Mediterranean herbs such as thyme and rosemary. The tannins are chewy but polished in texture. This is a Sassicaia that needs three or four years of bottle age to come together and soften. A structured wine for the cellar. Try after 2029."
98 Danielle Callegari - Wine Enthusiast
Aromas of vanilla, tobacco leaf, wild blackberries and blueberries gust on the nose, while the palate brings more sweet berries and vanilla but also has an unexpected bouncy, lively, almost pop-rocks feel from the acid. Flexible tannins structure a warm, citrus finish. As ever, a five-star luxury, with the ease of a lifetime of experience.
97+ Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The Tenuta San Guido 2022 Bolgheri Sassicaia reveals a beautiful fruit profile with fresh blackberry, tart cherry and Mediterranean tones of blue rosemary blooms and lavender sachet. I tasted this wine several times over the course of a few months, and it has already shown a happy evolution coming into slow focus like the faint colors that emerge from a Polaroid photograph. Indeed, the bouquet appeared more closed just a short while ago. The wine's strongest suit is its elegantly streamlined mouthfeel and its contained 13.5% alcohol content. These qualities add to the silky cleanness of the mouthfeel and the accessible freshness of this vintage. I am confident that this bottle will improve with time. It requires patience."
97+ Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
"The 2022 Sassicaia is a deeper, youthful magenta/red color with a slightly deeper aromatic profile of rosemary, gravelly earth, sage, mossy earth, and fresh black cherries. The palate has slightly broader shoulders but remains elegant. It has more plushness on the mid-palate, while its acidity shines through with the finish. It will need several years to shed its baby fat and show its full potential. Drink 2028-2058."

2021 Flora Springs Trilogy Blend from United States
#151248 750 mL
2021 Flora Springs Trilogy
94 Jeb Dunnuck - jebdunnuck.com
The flagship 2021 Trilogy from this estate checks in as 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, and the rest Malbec, all raised in mostly (all?) new oak. This medium to full-bodied, ripe, concentrated, satisfying effort has lots of blueberry and darker raspberry-like fruit, some chocolaty oak and dusty minerality, ripe tannins, and a great finish. I love its overall balance, it has notable purity, and I see no reason it shouldn't evolve for 15-20 years.
93 Joe Czerwinski - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot and 5% Malbec, Flora Springs's 2021 Trilogy offers up an intriguing bouquet of ripe cherries, fine sandalwood and a hint of mint too. While not a huge blockbuster wine, it's medium to full-bodied, nicely proportioned and silky in feel, with a lingering finish.

Fresh pale lemon and lime. A return to classicism after the sultry southern style of the last Mâcon. The Bourgogne is really quite chiselled – samples served cool – with a little biscuity touch as part of the prolonged finish. Drink from 2026-2029. Tasted Oct 2024.

2014 Lopez De Heredia Bosconia Rioja Reserva Blend from Spain
#149817 750 mL
2014 Lopez De Heredia Bosconia Rioja Reserva
95 JoaquÃn Hidalgo - Vinous Media
The 2014 Viña Bosconia is 80% Tempranillo with 10% Garnacha, 5% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo from the El Bosque vineyard in Haro, Rioja. Garnet in hue, it opens with cassis, cola and oak-driven aromas. The palate is youthful and smooth, with well-integrated tannins, black fruit and anisette at the finish. Still growing, it’ll develop greater complexity with more time in bottle.
94+ Luis Gutierrez - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
I loved the nose of the 2014 Viña Bosconia Reserva, a red that sells at an incredible price for the quality, the problem is (like all their wines) finding it... They had to accelerate the harvest to avoid botrytis caused by the abundant rain during the harvest. This is a blend of 80% Tempranillo, 15% Garnacho and the remaining 5% Graciano and Mazuelo, fermented in old oak vats with their yeasts and matured in neutral American oak barrels for no less than five years. It's elegant and nuanced, developed but young for its age, with a seamless palate and very fine tannins, with energy and light. It has 13.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.3 and 6.7 grams of acidity, notable parameters of freshness. 80,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2022.

2023 D'angerville Bourgogne Aligote
87 Jasper Morris, MW - Inside Burgundy
Pale colour, a classical Aligoté bouquet with its slightly acrid grape skins. What has changed is the degree of flesh in the middle of the mouth and the ripeness of the finish. Some lemon and orange blossom notes are now more prevalent than lime. Otherwise, baked apple. In bottle. Drink from 2025-2028. Tasted Nov 2024.

2020 Il Marroneto Madonna Delle Grazie Brunello Di Montalcino Sangiovese from Italy
#146258 750 mL
2020 Il Marroneto Madonna Delle Grazie Brunello Di Montalcino
99 James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
An exquisite mix of elegant aromas dominates the nose, with notes of Parma violets, orange peel, Earl Grey tea, dried cherries, smoky woodland and earthy minerality. Full-bodied, it shows significant tannins, but it’s velvety, sweet and full of aging potential. The flavors are enhanced by energetic, slightly lifted acidity and a super-long, austere finish. It will last for decades. Try after 2025.
98 Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The Il Marroneto 2020 Brunello di Montalcino Madonna delle Grazie (tasted once in the winery and again in my office) is another classical expression of Sangiovese from vintner Alessandro Mori and his son Iacopo. This vintage is best described as more charming compared to the stacked 2019 vintage or the powerful 2016 edition. This is a very pretty wine, elegant and finessed, with pretty floral highlights of rose and violet that lean into a subtle menthol note. There is caramelized sugar and candied orange. The wine lives in oak for 46 months with just a brief time in steel before going into bottle (at the end of July 2024). This vintage is a little closed or tight in terms of mouthfeel, which suggests it needs more time in bottle to spread its wings.
98 Eric Guido - Vinous Media
The undeniably elegant 2020 Brunello di Montalcino Madonna delle Grazie is amazingly fresh and vibrant on the nose, cascading from the glass with a burst of crushed cherries, rose petals, blood oranges and cloves. This displays exceptional elegance and grace, soothing the palate with its silken feel and ripe red and blue fruits. Hints of sour citrus add contrast, a mix of iron-borne minerals and fine tannins that mount toward the close. A saturation of primary concentration remains, offset by residual acidity as this finishes structured and impossibly long, leaving a sour cherry tinge and masses of violet pastille. The 2020 is a showboat yet complex and harmonious from start to finish. It's easily one of the absolute top wines of the vintage.
