Product Description:

" It was in 1962, the year I married Leonor Guedes de Almeida, granddaughter of Constantino de Almeida, that I first came into contact with the Douro region and Quinta do Crasto. This is a passion that has been with me for over 50 years and has given me great joy, but has also involved many sacrifices. We started producing our Douro DOC wines in 1994, adding to the commercialization of Vintage Port wines that were part of the Quinta's stock, beginning with the 1978 Vintage. From that moment on, I had the pleasure of involving my three children, Miguel, Tomás, and Rita, in the project, with whom I shared the great pleasure of putting Quinta do Crasto on the wine map, both nationally and internationally. Significant investments have been made, starting with the vineyard, the most important factor for the quality of our wines. To meet the growing market demand, we decided to invest in the Douro Superior region. Thus, in 2000 we acquired Quinta da Cabreira, a 150-hectare property where we planted 114 hectares of vineyards, and subsequently, in 2006, we acquired Quinta do Querindelo, strengthening our response to our growth needs. Investments continued with the renovation of the barrel cellar and, more recently, with the remodeling of the wine presses and cellars. Currently, we are again investing in the requalification of some vineyards.Throughout this journey, the work of our oenology and viticulture teams has been fundamental. With their diverse yet highly enriching experiences and styles, they have been responsible for the excellence and passion applied to the production of our wines. This has been a great adventure that has fortunately brought us many successes over these past years. And I am convinced that this will not be the last adventure we will be involved in. There will certainly be more. The passion continues… Jorge Roquette" Winery.
