The vines that make up this wine are between 25 and 60 years old. They grow in granitic soils and with a production that never exceeds 4.5 tons per hectare. Vila Nova de Tazem (Serra da Estrela sub-region) is a terroir from which the “Textura da Estrela” labels come. This is a low-intervention red wine in which we do short pumping over the first few days of fermentation and then just manual manta management. It results in a very typical Dão that reflects its genuine terroir and “sense of place”. Have with stew or roast meats. Goes great with the famous cheeses from same mountain.
