This wine is a tribute to the golden age of pre-technology Douro wine-making.
The grapes are received and crushed whole cluster without de-stemming and fermented in open “lagares”.
The wine aged 12 months in oak and a further 6 years in cement vats with minimal temperature fluctuation ensuring a very slow and noble aging.
wine was bottled in 2020 to age further in bottle and perfect its character. Rich and dense but with velvety tannins it provides plenty of complexity and length to pair with lamb and roasted meats.
