Cune Crianza has been produced every year since the Company's inception.
The vineyards for Cune Crianza are located in Rioja Alta, near CVNE, which ensures the grapes arrive at the winery in perfect condition for optimal winemaking. Approximately half are estate-grown vineyards in Haro and surrounding villages, while the remaining grapes are purchased from local growers. We have relied on these suppliers for generations to produce Cune Crianza, and each year the CVNE technical team provides ongoing support and guidance to these growers.
Fermentation takes place in 20,000 kg stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature between 25 and 27ºC to preserve the fruit character of this wine. Daily pump-overs and two rackings are performed during maceration. After approximately 12 days of maceration, the wine is separated from the press, and malolactic fermentation occurs in the tank. The wine is then aged in American oak barrels for one year, during which time it develops its characteristic aromatic balance, finesse, and overall expression.
