Jay Miller - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2009 Tridente Tempranillo from the DO of Castilla y Leon is 100% Tempranillo that spent 15 months in French oak. Aromas of toasty oak, graphite, balsamic, incense, and black fruits are followed by a dense, powerful Tempranillo from the great 2009 vintage. Rich, savory, and pleasure bent, it is a great value for drinking over the next 6-8 years." (06/11)

"Glass-staining ruby. Sexy scents of cherry-vanilla, mulberry and oak spices. Lush and creamy on entry, then firmer in the middle, offering juicy, penetrating dark fruit flavors that show very good depth. In a modern, oaky style, with very good closing thrust and length." (10/11)

Wine:
"100% Tempranillo, aged 15 months in barrels. Cherry color with garnet rim, offering very intense and complex aromas of ripe fruit, cocoa and spices. It shows a very significant touch of ripe fruit on the palate, powerful and complex including notes of roasted coffee, cocoa, chocolate, full, rich satisfying mouthful with a very long finish and rounded tannins, thanks to it's months of aging." - Winery

"Bodegas Triton facilities' are located in Villanueva de Campean, about 30 miles south of Zamora, in the heart of Tierra del Vino. The winery, small in size, is designed to make small elaborations of grapes, mostly of the variety Tinta de Toro, native to the area and deeply rooted in the whole region, but also works with varieties such as Mencia and Prieto Picudo from quite old vineyards with very little production from the regions of Bierzo and Leon. Triton winery's vineyards are composed of more than 30 different parcels of very old vines, which goes back until some of them in 1910, mainly located in the municipalities of Villanueva and El Pego, the latter within the geographical scope of the Appellation of Toro." - Winery
