About

Rating:

91

"This modern red is balanced and nicely focused, with ripe black cherry and blackberry fruit framed by well-integrated tannins and accented with just enough toasty oak. Floral and spicy notes linger on the finish. Drink now through 2012. 4,000 cases made." - 91 Points - Wine Spectator

WINE:
"In order to produce the Emina wines, the grape has been carefully selected from the very best estates in the “Golden triangle” of wine in the Designation of Origin “Ribera del Duero”. The “Emina” wine spends 12 months at the crianza stage. ‘Emina Prestigio’ comes from the ‘Valdebaniego’ estate. The grapes are harvested at just the right time and they are always picked by hand, undergoing a quality selection process at the same time. " - Winery

"100% tinta del pais (country red wine). This wine ages for 16 months in French Allier semi-toasted oak casks."
"It has an intense colour that is dominated by inky and very dark purple tones. It has an intense and clear aroma. Some smells of clove are distinguishable, torrefacto and dried fruit from ageing in barrels, together with its aroma of mixed fruit. Its taste is broad and comes from sweet tannin, as well as a very good sensation given off by its fruit-based aromas. There is a long and persistent aftertaste. It goes well with meat, roasts, game and mature cheese." - Winemaker

This wine also scored 88 points Wine Enthusiast and 87 points Wine Advocate.
