"As usual, I was able to taste through multiple parcels destined for the 2021 Côte Rôtie. All of the samples show solid, classic aromatics, more medium-bodied profiles, and soft, relatively tame tannins, and this will clearly will be a more mid-weight, yet balanced, charming Côte Rôtie from this estate that will be loved by the Jamet lovers out there. Jean-Paul commented that he used slightly less stems in 2021 (although most lots saw upwards of 80% whole clusters) and chapitalized to raise the alcohol 1%, which is common in the vintage. I suspect this will be relatively accessible in its youth given its more rounded tannins and should evolve similarly to the 2014."
