Product Description:

Château Maris is a winery in Minervois La Livinière, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France. A wide range of wines are made from typical Southern French grape varieties, either as single variety bottlings or multi grape blends. The Château Maris label is used for estate grown wines. Maris Selection denotes bought in grapes. There are 32 hectares (79 acres) of estate vineyards divided into numerous small plots. Red grape varieties featuring in the estate grown portfolio include Grenache, Syrah and Carignan. Grenache Gris is used for white and rosé wines. The Maris Selection wines feature these grapes plus Cinsault, Grenache Blanc, and Viognier. Pays d'Oc Pinot Noir and Grenache are released in canned form. The winery was founded in 1997 by Robert "Bertie" Eden, the great nephew of former British Prime Minister Anthony Eden. It is now part of Cordier by Invivo. The winding road leading to the plots of Syrah vines located on the terraces at the foot of La Livinière gave its name to this expressive vintage with aromas of black fruits and silky tannins. A singular harmony, with echoes of the surrounding heath. La Touge brings out Life, it is a vintage very representative of biodynamics with a touch of mineral. Taste : Notes of black fruits, blackcurrant. Inky purple on the glass. La Touge has a full-bodied richness, a beautifully integrated acidity, ripe tannins and no hard edges. It is mellow and sleek, with juicy tannins. Aging potential : 3-7 years. Grape varieties : Syrah (60%), Grenache (35) & Carignan (5%)
