Winegrowers for many generations, the Raimbault family is fortunate to own vines on both sides of the Loire, in the Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, and Coteaux du Giennois appellations. Philippe Raimbault, a ninth-generation vintner, is based in the village of Sury-en-Vaux, just north of Verdigny. He produces Sancerre wines from the steep hillsides surrounding the village and Pouilly-Fumé from the clay-limestone soils of Saint-Martin-sur-Nohain. The slopes of Giennois, overlooking the Loire and the town of Cosne-sur-Loire, are harvested for their unique terroir.
