"Produced with wild indigenous yeasts, minimal filtration and without any clarification this wine has its own identity and to call it a Super Tuscan would be correct but it would also not express it enough.. Donna is grown in soils that are mostly clay with a bit of limestone and are at the highest elevations in the area encompassing the town of Montepulciano in the SE part of Tuscany.
The grapes s are vinified separately after first undergoing a 15 days maceration. Malolactic fermentation is done in large Slavonian oak barrels and then the wine is aged for 12 months and when ready and will spend another 8 months in the bottle before it is released.
The nose is beautiful yet rustic and the flavors of dark cherry, leather and earth make this a spectacular food wine.
Donna is excellent with meats, pasta dishes, pizza and medium aged cheese."-IMPORTER
