Giacomo Bindi is a purist in the vineyard - practicing organic since, well forever, they were certified Organic 20+ years ago. In his own words he's, "a listener to the vineyard, not an ideologue" when it comes to farming. In the cuverie he's best described as a "hands-off mad scientist" - a minimal interventionist who's developed his own method for cultivating yeast for fermentation. And word has gotten around about his wines and the unique terroir of his vineyards (both Gaja and Antinori have purchased land on either side of il Cocco recently - they see the quality quite clearly).
