"There's a fleshy and chewy quality to this wine that is reflected by its aromas of dark cherry, cured meat and tobacco. In the mouth, it shows density and firmness with a bright touch of acidity on the close. - ML" (05/13)

Product Description:

Think it is impossible to buy a great bottle of Brunello for $30 or less? Think again!

This is a wine Brunello buyers will want to stock up on for sure. Not only will it age in the cellar, you can enjoy it right away. It's full bodied, with incredible structure and well defined fruit. Perhaps what is most impressive is the long, smooth finish that seems to go on for 45+ seconds!

The 2008 Ricci Brunello was rated 91 points from Wine Enthusiast by critic, Monica Larner, who is now working at Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. For those of you who loved the 2006 and 2007 vintages...this is another great addition to your collection!

With a list price of $50, this Brunello is a steal!

More about this wine:
"Ruby red in color with slight garnet hues. Intense, soft, and spicy on the nose. Great tannic structure in the mouth. Well-balanced and elegant on the palate with a long finish. Pairs well with roasts, grilled meats, game, and aged cheeses.

The "Tenimenti Ricci" Estate located in Sant'Angelo is one of the older and more traditional rural establishments in this area of Brunello production. Ferruccio Ricci and his sister Ida, who manage the estate, are deeply rooted in family traditions and Montalcinese wine making, with a modern and youthful approach. The cellar has been recently restored and equipped with temperature conditioning rooms. There, the wine is made, aged in barrels made of Slovanian oak and then bottled. The vineyards cover about 12 hectares concentrating on the Sangiovese grape, planted in a privileged position on the land." -Importer
