"The very mild spring led to early budbreak in the vines, and we anticipated an early start to the harvest. After being spared the devastating late frosts of late April, we experienced wet summer months. With significantly higher rainfall than in
previous years, some of the water deficits were replenished— a true blessing! At the same time, however, the rainfall— accompanied by often cool weather—delayed the vines' development; consequently, we did not begin harvesting the Riesling until
