James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com
This is one of the wines of the vintage in the Nahe. That starts an explosive nose of Amalfi lemons, white and yellow peaches, lychees and kiwis. Incredible concentration and vibrancy on the tightly focused, medium-bodied palate. A spring-like lightness is married to awesome density, the two so tightly wound that they’re inseparable through the almost endless finish. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold.
Product Description:
"The late harvest wine from the Hermannshöhle Grand Cru vineyard presents itself with a magical quality. It is refined, elegant, yet aristocratic and complex. On the nose, slate aromas dominate, accompanied by delicate notes of fresh and dried flowers. Its concentration is remarkable, yet simultaneously light and refined. On the palate, it unfolds with racy character and blends perfectly with the terroir-driven aromas. This is a noble, highly elegant, and simultaneously complex late harvest wine with a long, yet very fine and ethereal finish, where everything harmonizes perfectly. With decades of aging potential, it is made for eternity.
After a careful, selective hand-harvest, using only the best grapes, a gentle pressing takes place. The must is then carefully aged in small stainless steel tanks and neutral oak barrels. Bottling occurs the year after the harvest, using high-quality natural corks that allow for long-term storage."-Winery
