A very exciting wine from the not very famous vineyards of Bad Kreuznach. Restrained citrus and stone fruit aromas, particularly Mirabelle plums. Ripeness and energy are precisely balanced on the medium-bodied palate. Long Amalfi lemon finish. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold.
Product Description:
"The wines from the Krötenpfuhl vineyard are characterized by delicate spice, distinct minerality, and a lively yet ripe acidity. We have recultivated part of this historic site over the last decade – since the 2017 vintage, we have been producing a Grand Cru wine from it, distinguished by its elegance, depth, and finesse.
After selective hand-harvesting in several passes, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented and aged in large oak barrels. The wine then matures for at least six months on the lees and a further two months on the fine lees – for additional structure, length, and aging potential."- Winery
