Daniel and Jonas Brand have way too much energy. A trip to the estate usually begins with a few hours in the vineyards where nearly every piece of dirt has to be reviewed, witnessed, appreciated. If this can be a bit daunting when all you wanna do is drink, the clarity and energy in the bottle flaunts the simple fact that the respect they are showing the vineyards –the time they are taking in the vineyards – is working. While they are in the Pfalz, they are so far to the north it mine as well be the Rheinhessen. This explains some of the sharpness of the wines.
