Originating largely from Urgestein terraces in Stein and Braunsdorf, though also incorporating sites across the Danube in Mautern, this delivers bright lime, Meyer lemon and sour cherry with a focus and extract richness that go beyond that of the estate’s intro-level Riesling. The half-dozen grams of residual sugar only serve to enhance the fruit and sense of levity, while suggestions of stone and salt add an intriguing counterpoint and salivary stimulation in a finish that grips, resonates and refreshes.
