Like a worn, comfy leather chair, this is comforting and supple in feel, with lightly mulled peach, green fig and cherry fruit flavors laced liberally with praline, toasted sesame, argan oil and green tea notes. A touch demure, with a soft focus at the core that contrasts beautifully with its racy edges. A stunner. Drink now. 155 cases made, 20 cases imported.
Product Description:
"Crasto Porto Tawny 40 Years Old is a Tawny Port wine aged in Portuguese oak barrels for an average of 40 years. Made from a selection of Port wines from the best vineyards, this blend combines the complexity of older wines with the freshness and vibrant acidity of younger wines, resulting in a balanced and sophisticated wine.
During its long aging period, aged Tawny Port wine undergoes subtle color changes, acquiring an amber hue and transforming its young, rich fruit into elegance, displaying a silky texture and intense, smooth flavors that only time can offer.
With a deep golden and bright hue, marked by amber reflections and delicate greenish nuances, Crasto Porto Tawny 40 Years demonstrates an unparalleled complexity and aromatic intensity, the result of decades of ageing in wood. On the nose, aromas of dried fruits emerge, such as figs, dates and walnuts, which combine elegantly with soft touches of honey, candied orange peel, sweet spices and iodine. On the palate, it is full-bodied and complex, with a sweetness well balanced by vibrant acidity. Its velvety texture, with extremely elegant and polished tannins, lend harmony to the wine, while the refreshing acidity intensifies the experience. It finishes long, persistent and memorable."- Winery
