95 Mark Squires - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The 1969 Colheita Tawny Port Vale d. Maria will be bottled (typically, on demand) with a glass bar-top cork in late 2019. There's only one cask, so it is the same blend on every release. This is the first release. Sweet and succulent, this has plenty of power to support the fruit and a very long finish. Delicious and balanced, it does everything well. It is pretty brilliant and irresistible at the moment, effortlessly projecting both harmony and complexity. This is the first in a series of old Tawnies that the winery plans on releasing. It's a great start.
