" DOMAINE DUCHESNE FRÈRES
BOURGOGNE WINES
The Domaine Duchesne Frères is located in the heart of Vallée des Vaux, nestled in the prestigious Côte Chalonnaise wine region.
This family estate covers 27 hectares, representing the heritage, hard work and passion that have been passed down through four generations.
David Duchesne, a passionate and humble winemaker, is dedicated to making quality wines while preserving the family heritage of his vineyard. He leads his team with sincerity, passing on his passion for viticulture.
Following the death of his brother, David decided to join forces with Michel Gayot, a long-standing partner, to co-manage the estate from 2023. Together, they combine tradition and innovation, ensuring the long-term success of the vineyard.
PHILOSOPHY
Wine-growing practices :
The winery adopts traditional vineyard management, with a density of 8,000 to 9,000 vines per hectare, and is HVE3 certified, testifying to a reasoned and meticulous approach to vine maintenance.
Winemaking method:
The estate’s winemaking philosophy focuses on the authentic expression of the terroir and the grapes. Combining traditional and modern techniques, the process includes mechanised harvesting and the use of a latest model of sorting table to select the best from the harvest, followed by an fermentation and pumping-over process, without punching down.
Vinification :
The harvest is mechanised, followed by a modern sorting table
to select the highest quality bunches and prepare the grapes for
fermentation and then exclusively for the pumping-over phase
(no punching of the cap). The wine is matured in vats.
Wine tasting :
Located in the hills above Saint-Denis-de-Vaux, this 100% pinot
noir Burgundy reveals a nose of red berries and blackcurrant
aromas. Supple and full on the palate.
Wine pairings :
This wine will enhance fine cuts of red meat (rib of beef, ribeye
steak or duck breast). It will also go well with a cheese platter." Winery.
