The 2023 Pinot Noir Lylee pours a bright red color and offers notes of cherries, fresh herbs, roses, and dusty earth. The palate offers a chalky-textured grip to its tannins, balanced acidity, and a refreshing, medium-bodied frame. It’s a nicely styled Pinot Noir that can be enjoyed now or over the next 4-5 years.

The Lylee tells the story of the estate site, and all 8 acres of Pinot Noir, with fruit coming from each of the five blocks. The oldest plantings are from 1997. The estate has a mix of clones, 115, 777 Pommard Wadensvil. Black tea, earth and juicy bramble fruits, and dessicated rose petals. Dark red berries and sweet earth on the palate, with ample structure. There is a grippiness to the wines, and a touch of rusticity to this wine, in the most elegant sense. 17% new oak for 10 months.

Our 'Lylee' bottling is our first Pinot Noir bottling of our estate vineyard each year and is meant to be a fruit forward and approachable representation of our vineyard. Our winemaker Matt sees this wine as less a reflection of his winemaking and more a representation of the vintage, the Brigadoon site, and the vineyard decisions he and his father Chris have made over the years. New oak is kept at a minimum and is only intended to act as the framework for bright red fruit flavors. The name 'Lylee' is derived from our owner's names Christopher Lyle and Sheree Lee and our hope is that this wine honors their hard work in establishing our estate vineyard.
