"Gorgeous, with a lush display of mulberry and blackberry fruit cruising through, underscored by hints of apple wood, warm earth and anise. Shows a swirl of black tea on the fruit-filled finish. For fans of the hedonistic style. Drink now through 2026. 185 cases made. -JM"
Product Description:
The 2021 MARNET McDougall Ranch Pinot Noir, West Sonoma Coast AVA, was fermented 100% de-stemmed in a stainless steel open top tank for 15 days before going to press. The first 5 days were spent cold-soaking, with minimal punch downs.
McDougall Ranch is located off King Ridge in the Cazadero hills. It is located a few miles from the ocean as the crow flies and enjoys cool, marine-influenced nights and warm days given its southern-facing aspect. The vineyard exists on a knoll with almost 360 degree views. While in the vineyard, you can look South towards the back side of the Hirsch property.Tasting notes: Structured, crackly purple fruit, moss, pomegranate, savory herbs
