91-93William Kelley - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Always one of the highlights of the range chez Lignier, the 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Vieilles Vignes is lovely, offering up aromas of dark berries and plums mingled with hints of licorice, mint and baking spices. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with powdery tannins, lively acids and a long, sapid finish, it's one 2021 that's built for the cellar.
91-93 Neal Martin - Vinous Media
A blend of Faconnières and Les Chenevery, the 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis Vieilles Vignes 1er Cru, has an earthy bouquet, touches of liquorice infusing the red berry fruit, then becoming saline with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, quite fleshy. Not as complex as other recent vintages but cohesive and sustained on the finish with a minerally aftertaste. Give it time in bottle.
